AFP, ROTARY CLUB OF LUCENA CENTRAL STRENGTHEN HEALTHCARE PARTNERSHIP
CAMP GUILLERMO NAKAR, LUCENA CITY — The 2nd Civil Relations Group (2CRG), Civil-Military Operations Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines, facilitated the turnover of medical supplies donated by the Rotary Club of Lucena Central to the Camp Guillermo Nakar Station Hospital (CNSH) on September 16, 2026, at Camp Guillermo Nakar, Lucena City.
The activity was graced by LTGEN CERILO C BALAORO JR PA, Commander, Southern Luzon Command, who highlighted the importance of community partnerships in advancing the welfare of military personnel, their families, and the communities they serve.
“We gather to celebrate a partnership founded on a shared commitment to serve others. The donation we received today is a meaningful expression of generosity and community spirit—one that will directly benefit the men and women who depend on Camp Nakar Station Hospital for their healthcare needs,” LTGEN BALAORO said.
The turnover ceremony underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between the AFP and its community partners in strengthening healthcare support and promoting the health, safety, and well-being of military personnel and their families.
The supplies will support various aspects of patient care, including infection prevention, safer medical procedures, wound management, pressure-injury prevention, patient hygiene and comfort, mobility and rehabilitation, as well as diagnostic services.
“Let us continue to build on this partnership, because when we strengthen those who care for our people, we strengthen the people themselves; and when we care for our people, we strengthen the Command and the communities we are sworn to serve,” LTGEN BALAORO said.
Mr. Marianito Villamin Jr., President of the Rotary Club of Lucena Central, underscored the organization’s commitment to extending assistance to the community, particularly to individuals requiring immediate medical attention.
“Layunin ng donasyong ito na makatulong sa pagpapanatili ng kalusugan at kaligtasan ng ating komunidad, partikular na ang mga nangangailangan ng agarang atensyong medikal,” Villamin said.
Meanwhile, COL NERIO C ZABALA MC (GSC), Commanding Officer of CNSH, expressed appreciation for the donation, emphasizing the significance of every resource in providing healthcare.
“In healthcare, every supply matters. Every resource we receive can make a difference in the care we provide. Thank you for choosing to share your resources with us and for trusting that your generosity will be put to meaningful use,” COL Zabala said.
He added that the donation will have a lasting impact on the hospital’s patients and their families, while expressing hope for stronger collaboration between the Rotary Club of Lucena Central and Camp Nakar Station Hospital in future healthcare initiatives.
For his part, LTCOL FERDINAND B FORONDA PN(M) (GSC), Group Commander, 2CRG, CMO Command, AFP, conveyed his appreciation to the Rotary Club of Lucena Central for its generosity and support.
“The Rotary Club of Lucena Central has generously provided medical supplies worth PHP 987,035.00, intended to augment the resources of Camp Guillermo Nakar Station Hospital and support the healthcare needs of our personnel and their families,” LTCOL Foronda said.
“These supplies may be material resources, but their real value is in the people they will help—the soldiers who serve, their families, and the members of our military community who depend on this hospital for their healthcare needs,” he added.
The donated medical supplies are intended to augment the hospital’s resources and enhance its capacity to provide quality healthcare services to military personnel, their families, and members of the military community.
The activity reflects the shared commitment of the AFP and the Rotary Club of Lucena Central to advancing community welfare through meaningful partnerships and responsive healthcare support.
