Lucena City, Sacred Heart College - In a significant event aligned with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Sacred Heart College (SHC) conducted the blessing and unveiling of the Saint Louise De Marillac Building Marker. Led by SHC President, Sr. Maria Luisa B. Javier, DC, and Architect Hector Michael B. Balanak, the unveiling marked a pivotal moment for the institution.
The building marker serves as a reminder that the St. Louise De Marillac Building is dedicated to the 400th year of Lumiere of St. Louise De Marillac. Originating from the ruins of a two-story structure destroyed in a fire in January 2019, this five-story building emerged under the guidance of Sr. Maria Ana Rosario G. Evidente, DC, Visitatrix, and the Provincial Council, along with the Board of Trustees.
Expressing gratitude, the event acknowledged the architects and engineers for their invaluable contributions, emphasizing their volunteer spirit that assured the building's quality. The collaborative effort extended to the unwavering support and love from the Daughters of Charity community, sisters, faculty from the Higher Education Department, Senior High School Department, Junior High School, non-teaching personnel, students, and alumni.
The building marker's content underscores its dedication to St. Louise De Marillac and signifies a collective effort that transformed a dream into reality. The event, graced by the Daughters of Charity community, sisters, faculty, non-teaching personnel, students, and alumni, symbolizes the unity that defines the SHC community. As the institution looks ahead, the hope is that the blessed Virgin Mary, the sole mother of the company, continues to protect them.
