Drug Awareness and Crime Prevention

The "Drug Awareness and Crime Prevention" program was held on October 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Betelgeuse Open Area. The event focused on law enforcement strategies to combat drug abuse and crime, featuring Police Staff Sergeant Ana M Paral as the guest speaker and Criminology Officer Princess M. Montevirgen as the master of ceremonies.

The program began with the entrance of colors, followed by a prayer and the singing of the national anthem, "Lupang Hinirang." Princess M. Montevirgen delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the important discussions ahead.

PSSG Ana M Paral addressed several critical issues, starting with the high rates of HIV and teenage pregnancy in Lucena. She then explained the difference between legal and illegal drugs and described common illegal drugs like ecstasy, including their effects and how they are used.

PSSG Paral highlighted the symptoms of drug addiction and explored the reasons behind drug selling and usage, such as peer pressure and family problems. Attendees also watched an educational video about drugs.

The guest speaker discussed the penalties for violating drug laws, including fines and imprisonment. She emphasized that police in Lucena carry out five drug operations each week and explained the different legal procedures applied to minors versus adults involved in drug cases.

The program ended with a certificate-awarding ceremony honoring PSSG Ana M Paral. The Criminology Battalion Commander Jerrylyn Malavega and SAS Assistant Joyce Ann Palillo were the one who gave the certificate. After that, Ms. Jerrylyn Malavega delivered the closing remarks. At the end of the program, the students sang the "Aces Hymn" and then the Criminology Offircers did the exit of colors.

Do you feel any pressure right now?
I don't feel any pressure right now!

Confident!

GOOD LUCK, LOVE
