[Repost] Statement NUJP-Quezon Chapter
NUJP-Quezon Chapter sends a huge embrace of empathy towards our brothers and sisters who lose their jobs in the regional stations of ABS-CBN as consequence of the network denied the necessary congressional franchise.
This development for our colleagues is truly saddening, undeserved because they exhibit absolute passion in improving their craft in the broadcast industry.
They were stripped of their livelihood 'nang walang kalaban-laban' and practically left without immediate options or means to feed their families.
Aggravating this dilemma is the fact that the country is currently experiencing Covid-19 pandemic, doubling the hardships and making job seeking more difficult.
However, we must maintain a positive stance to motivate our fellows, looking out for opportunities on their behalf and extend moral support in any way we can.
They need to feel that we are behind them with every move, every undertaking and every opportunity, boosting their self-worth, always reminding them their skills are crucial in a particular endeavor.
Let us be reminded that like them, we are all susceptible to unfair, unjust and undeserved circumstances. But amidst all this trials, we shall emerged triumphant as long as we maintain an optimistic disposition.
Laban lang, mga kapamilya! Kasama kami hanggang sa huli.
