The Gulayan ng Barangay Contest officially concluded its final judging on July 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM. This initiative was launched in May 2025 as part of Barangay Tagugpoโ€™s campaign to promote food security, sustainable agriculture, and environmental awareness within the community.

Participants in the contest were representatives from various barangay agencies, including Barangay Tanods and group of Lupong Tagapamayapa. Each group established and maintained their own vegetable garden over the course of several months in preparation for the evaluation.

The final judging was conducted by three personnel from the Department of Agriculture, ensuring an objective and professional assessment of the gardens based on established criteria.

This activity was spearheaded by Punong Barangay Albert A. Magtana and Kagawad Gener Gomez, Chairman of the Agriculture Committee, with the full support of the Barangay Council.

The announcement of winners is scheduled to take place on August 4, 2025, following the barangayโ€™s regular flag ceremony.

A Grateful Farewell to a Remarkable Public Servant ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

On July 7, 2025, the Barangay Council of Brgy. Tagugpo, Lupon, Davao Oriental, led by Punong Barangay Hon. Albert A. Magtana, proudly honored Ms. Teresita Alfas with a Retirement Incentive Award in recognition of her 39 long and faithful years of service as a Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS).

For nearly four decades, Ms. Teresita has been a pillar of strength, compassion, and dedication in our communityโ€”tirelessly working to promote health, nutrition, and well-being among families, especially the most vulnerable. Her efforts in supporting countless community programs, wellness campaigns, and health monitoring have left an enduring legacy of service and love.

Masiglang pagsisimula ng Buwan ng Nutrisyon!

Isang matagumpay na Nutrition Month Kick-off Program ang isinagawa noong Hulyo 7, 2025 mula 7:00 AM hanggang 9:00 AM sa Brgy. Tagugpo, Lupon, Davao Oriental. Pinangunahan ito ni Punong Barangay Hon. Albert Magtana, katuwang si Mr. Neil Maata, RN at ang masisigasig na Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) at Barangay Health Workers (BHW), kasama ang lahat ng barangay functionaries.

Nagsimula ang programa sa isang maayos na flag ceremony at parada, sinundan ng masayang zumba session na tunay namang nagpasigla sa lahat ng dumalo. Tinapos ang aktibidad sa isang salo-salo ng mainit at masarap na arozcaldo bilang simbolo ng pagkakaisa at malasakit sa kalusugan ng bawat isa.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nakiisa! Sama-sama nating isulong ang wastong nutrisyon para sa mas malusog na komunidad!

In our continuous pursuit of better infrastructure and safer road access, we are proud to share the ongoing gravelling project covering key areas in our barangay. This includes Purok 3 โ€“ Lower Lote, Upper Lote, Pagsabangan, and the conjunction road connecting Brgy. Tagugpo to Purok Anangilan.

This initiative is spearheaded by our hardworking Punong Barangay, Hon. Albert A. Magtana, together with the committed barangay officials and functionaries, who continue to serve selflessly despite the challenges. Their dedication to improving the daily lives of our constituents is truly commendable.

The gravelling aims to address road accessibility, especially during rainy seasons where mud and flooding often cause inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians. By improving the road conditions, we also ensure smoother transport of goods, easier access to services, and overall safer travel for everyone in the community.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed their time, effort, and resources to make this project possible. From the truck drivers and laborers to the officials who facilitated this effortโ€”your collaboration reflects the true spirit of bayanihan.
