"UWAN" MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH AS LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS CONTINUE OVER BICOL REGION.

Location of Center (10:00 AM):

The center of the eye of Super Typhoon UWAN was estimated based on all available data including those from Baler and Daet Doppler Weather Radar over the coastal waters of Pandan, Catanduanes (14.3°N, 124.4°E)

Intensity:

Maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 230 km/h, and central pressure of 935 hPa

Present Movement: West northwestward at 30 km/h

TYPHOON "UWAN" FURTHER INTENSIFIES AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE CLOSER TOWARDS BICOL REGION

Location of Center (10:00 PM):

The center of the eye of Typhoon UWAN was estimated based on all available data at 380 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (13.5°N, 127.7°E)

Intensity:

Maximum sustained winds of 155 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 190 km/h, and central pressure of 950 hPa

Present Movement: West northwestward at 35 km/h
