Rescheduled Weekend Power Interruption

Rescheduled power interruption in parts of Leyte and Southern Leyte.

The scheduled maintenance activity affecting SOLECO and parts of DORELCO on 20 July 2025 has been rescheduled to accommodate the request of SOLECO.

The new schedule will be on Saturday, 19 July 2025.

Time: 5:00PM-6:00PM (Mayorga, Javier and Abuyog Substations)

Affected: SOLECO
Time:
1) 6:00AM-7:00AM and 5:00PM-6:00PM (Sogod Substation)
2) 6:00AM-6:00PM (Maasin, Himay-angan and St. Bernard Substations)

Reason: Pole replacement along Maasin-Nasaug 69kV line portion.

Specific areas affected shall be determined by the electric cooperative. NGCP shall exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.

Boats Prepare to Sail as Big Waves Slowly Subside in Southern Leyte–Surigao Strait

MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte — Fisherfolk and small vessel operators have begun preparing to resume sea travel as wave conditions in the Southern Leyte–Surigao Strait gradually subside, following several days of rough seas that disrupted local fishing and transport.

Roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) operations are also expected to normalize, with delivery and supply trucks bound for Mindanao getting ready to continue their trips after a brief suspension of sea crossings due to inclement weather.

Affected: SOLECO (Himay-angan and St. Bernard Substations)

Partially energized SOLECO's Sogod Substation at 9:08AM. Remaining isolated is SOLECO's Himay-angan and St. Bernard Substations.

Reason: Outage of Nasaug-St. Bernard 69kV Line. NGCP personnel were already dispatched to patrol affected line.
