Did you know?
✔️ Puffing Billy Railway opened on December 18, 1900, in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne
✔️ During the 1930s–1950s, rail use declined as cars and roads became more popular.
✔️ A major landslide in 1953 damaged the railway line.
✔️ The railway officially closed in 1954.
✔️ Railway enthusiasts and volunteers formed the Puffing Billy Preservation Society to save it.
✔️ Part of the railway reopened in 1962 between Belgrave and Menzies Creek.
✔️ The full line to Gembrook reopened in 1998 after years of restoration.
