Future Educators Showcase Talent at Education Days 2026

MADRIDEJOS โ€” The College of Education at Madridejos Community College (MCC) held a vibrant variety show from January 21โ€“23 as part of its Education Days 2026 celebration.

The three-day event gathered students from various clusters to showcase their creativity, confidence, and teamwork. Designed to foster unity within the department, the show featured diverse performances that highlighted the unique talents of future educators.

Beyond the entertainment, the program served as a platform for student connection, reinforcing the college's belief that personal growth and collaboration are as vital as classroom learning. The successful event concluded by inspiring students to lead with both passion and heart in their future teaching careers.

Jess C. Layao Named MCC - College of Education Queen of Empire 2026

Jess C. Layao of the Greece Dynasty was crowned Queen of Empire 2026 during the opening day of MCC - College of Education Days. Representing one of four competing dynasties (Greece, Han, Aztec, and Ming), Layao bested seven other candidates in a competition highlighting advocacy, evening elegance, and intellectual wit.

The pageant winners included:

Queen of Empire: Jess C. Layao (Greece)

1st Runner-up: Darwin O. Carallas (Ming)

2nd Runner-up: Rey John Badillo (Greece)

3rd Runner-up: Roldan Jean Y. Zapa (Aztec)

The event featured rounds focused on community empowerment and LGBTQ+ leadership, serving as a vibrant kickoff to the annual celebration.

MCC - College of Education Cheer Dance Competition Highlights Unity and Team Spirit

The Cheerdance Competition was successfully held on January 21, 2026, at the Madridejos Community College Covered Court as a highlight of this year's College of Education Days.

The event featured spirited performances from four clusters: Ming, Greece, Aztec, and Han. Each group demonstrated exceptional skill and talent, reinforcing a sense of community across the department.

The final standings were as follows:

Champion: Cluster Ming

1st Place: Cluster Greece

2nd Place: Cluster Aztec

3rd Place: Cluster Han

A total of 705 graduates of Madridejos Community College (MCC) received financial assistance under the DSWD AKAP program, an initiative supported by Representative Sun Shimura of the 4th District of Cebu.

The payout, held at the MCC Covered Court, was made possible through Rep. Shimuraโ€™s office and implemented in coordination with the DSWD. The assistance aims to help fresh graduates manage their daily needs as they transition to employment and new opportunities.

Rep. Shimura emphasized that empowering the youth remains one of his top priorities, noting that targeted aid such as AKAP ensures that students can begin the next chapter of their lives โ€œwith confidence, dignity, and hope.โ€

The activity was conducted with the support of Mayor Romeo Villaceran and the local government of Madridejos.

Madridejos Community College Proudly Joins 97th Annual Town Fiesta Parade

On December 9, 2025, the town of Madridejos held its civic parade, with Madridejos Community College (MCC) proudly taking part. The parade formed part of the 97th Annual Town Fiesta, celebrated under the theme โ€œ๐“๐‡๐„ ๐…๐„๐’๐“๐ˆ๐•๐ˆ๐“๐ˆ๐„๐’ ๐…๐Ž๐‘ ๐Ž๐”๐‘ ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ•๐“๐‡ ๐€๐๐๐”๐€๐‹ ๐“๐Ž๐–๐ ๐…๐ˆ๐„๐’๐“๐€.โ€

Faculty and staff of MCC gathered at the MNHS Oval alongside various schools, barangays, and local organizations before joining the parade. Representing the institution with pride, the MCC delegation showcased unity and school spirit as they marched through the designated route.

The event highlighted the strong community involvement of Madridejos Community College and its continued support for local traditions and cultural celebrations as the town carried on with its fiesta activities.

BSHM Students Orient for Decembert OJT Start.

The Hospitality Management Department at Madridejos Community College held its On-The-Job Training (OJT) Orientation on November 24, 2025, to prepare second and fourth-year students for their training, which is set to begin in December. The event, held at the college's covered court, was initiated with a welcome from Mrs. Julie Marie Sonido , who stressed the importance of OJT as a vital link between classroom theory and real-world hospitality practice.

Key speakers provided essential details for the upcoming immersion. Mr. Jose Gila, Students Affairs Director, briefed the students on general workplace expectations and professional etiquette. Meanwhile, Dr. Israel Abarratigue, Dean of BSHM, reviewed the specific academic requirements and assessment criteria for the training. A central focus of the session was the detailed guidance from Ms. Christy Forsuelo , Assistant to the Dean for HM, who outlined the essential "dos and don'ts" of OJT, placing strong emphasis on punctuality , respect , and the mandatory submission of all required documents (Resumes, application letters, MOA, etc.) before the December start date. She also highlighted the students' responsibility to uphold the college's vision and mission throughout their training period.

The orientation concluded with motivational remarks from Mr. Mikko Craus . He encouraged the students not to "give up on you," urging them to embrace the challenges ahead and fully maximize the valuable opportunities their upcoming OJT experience will provide.
