With an exceptional overall rating of 99.38%, the Pampanga State Agricultural University’s Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Unit was once again hailed as the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) champion, on May 21 at PSAU Grandstand.

𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟰𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀.

As of 5:00 p.m. today, May 16, a total of 644 students have cast their votes via the Supreme Student Council (SSC) voting platforms.

Outgoing SSC officials continue to urge the student body to exercise their right to vote before the polls close at 7:00 p.m.

𝗦𝗶𝘆𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹, 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀

As candidates for the upcoming Supreme Student Council election, their stances define the political and social landscape of our university, and this survey will formally present their positions with regard to various pressing and controversial socio-political issues at the National, Local, and University levels.

Each candidate was given five choices to express their stances on each issue given. And here are the following equivalent definitions of their responses:

𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 – Full and unconditional support.
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 – General support, but with some conditions or reservations.
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 – General opposition, but with some conditions or reservations.
𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 – Complete and unconditional opposition.
𝗔𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 – Insufficient knowledge to comment on the issue, or no definitive preference for support or opposition.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗣𝗦𝗔𝗨 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗱, 𝟴𝟵.𝟮𝟯% 𝗕𝗦𝗘𝗱 𝗟𝗘𝗧 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁

The Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) has achieved remarkable results in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) as 64 alumni from the College of Education officially reaped their professional licenses, as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
‎
For the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) program, PSAU recorded a perfect passing rate, with all three first-time takers and all three repeaters successfully passing, resulting in an overall performance of 100%.
‎
Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) program also posted strong results, with 49 out of 53 first-time takers and 9 out of 12 repeaters passing, earning an overall passing rate of 89.23%.
‎
‎Nationally, the PRC reported that 18,376 elementary teachers out of 32,796 examinees passed, yielding a national passing rate of 56.03%, while 45,001 secondary teachers out of 61,561 examinees passed, amassing a 73.10% national passing rate.
‎
‎PSAU’s performance notably surpassed these national averages, highlighting the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its strong preparation of future educators.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝟰 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝘇𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.

Beyond this recognition, these individuals prove themselves enough to be Most Outstanding Campus Journalist in their respective way, making impressive marks through various field work and press conferences.

Through hardships and determinations, these nominees are worthy of medals and certificates.

Tinitigan ko ang menu. ₱250 para sa isang tasa ng kape. Mahal, oo. Pero paminsan-minsan lang naman. Ngayon lang ulit ako may dahilan. May midyear bonus akong natanggap.

“Isang cappuccino po,” sabi ko sa barista.

Pagkatapos nito, magpapa-dentista ako. May HMO naman ako.

Nag-ring ang cellphone ko.

“Hello, Nay? Kumusta?”

“Nak, may extra ka jan? Naputulan kasi kami ng kuryente.”

“Nay, nagpadala na po ako, hindi ba?”

“Nagastos ko, anak. Dalawang libo lang naman…”

Napabuntong-hininga ako. Binuksan ko ang app at nag-send ng pera. Mabuti na lang talaga at may bonus. Tinawag ang pangalan ko. Kinuha ko ang kape. Mainit, mabango, at umuusok pa.

Sa labas ng coffee shop, umupo ako. Malamig ang hangin mula sa loob, humahalo sa init ng hapon. Para bang walang problema sa mundo.

Siguro nga, sa wakas, maginhawa na ang buhay.

Kalansing. May bumagsak na barya sa loob ng basong hawak ko. Napatingin ako. ₱5.

Tumingin ako sa paligid. Wala na ang coffee shop. Nasa semento ako, sa harap ng convenience store. Ramdam ang malamig na simoy ng hangin. Hawak ang parehong baso. Tinignan ko ang mga kamay ko. Nangingitim ang mga daliri. Ang longsleeve ko, gusot at may mantsa. Sa tabi ko, isang bag at isang envelope na lukot.

Kumirot ang ngipin ko. Napapikit ako. Nagpapantasya na lang ang utak ko dahil hindi na kinakaya ng katawang tao ko ang sakit.

Ah…

Dalawang buwan na pala akong walang trabaho.

At tatlong linggo na akong ganito—nakaupo sa semento, hawak ang basong plastik, umaasa sa barya ng mga taong ni hindi ako tinitingnan sa mata.

May dumaan. Hindi tumingin. May isa pa. Bumilis ang lakad.

“Pasensya na po,” sabi ko sa wala.

Naalala ko noong unang araw ko sa trabaho. Sales assistant sa mall. Minimum wage: ₱758 kada araw. Anim na araw sa isang linggo. Walo hanggang siyam na libo kada kinsenas.

Sapat para sa upa. Para sa pagkain. Para sa padala kay Nanay.

Masaya ako noon. Akala ko, magtatagal ito.

Pero limang buwan at labing-limang araw lang.

Noong ika-labing anim na araw, hindi na ako pinapasok.

“Endo ka na,” sabi nila.

Ngumiti pa ako noon. Akala ko may susunod, ngunit wala pala.

Simula noon, naghanap ako ng trabaho.

“Why did you leave your previous job?”

“Endo po.”

“I see. We’ll call you.”

Hindi na sila tumawag.

Isa. Dalawa. Tatlo. Paulit-ulit.

Hanggang sa naubos ang ipon, naibenta ang cellphone. Nautang ang renta at nawala ang tirahan.

Napabuntong-hininga ako.

Sa dilim ng aking isipan, bumalik ang kape.

₱250.

Mainit. Mabango. May HMO. May bonus. May laman ang banko.

Pero pagdilat ko—

Semento.

Inayos ko ang upo ko, itinaas ko ang baso. May limang piso. May ilang sentimo.

Maraming dumadaan. Baka sakaling may tumingin. Baka sakaling may maghulog. Baka sakaling mapuno.

Baka sakaling umabot sa ₱250—hindi na para sa kape, kundi para sa isang platong kanin at itlog.

Maya-maya, may huminto sa harap ko. Naka-polo. May ID. Malinis. Tiningnan niya ako mula ulo hanggang paa.

“Psst.”

Tumingala ako.

“May trabaho ako. Cash daily. Walang kontrata. ₱400 isang araw. Gusto mo?”

Napatingin ako sa baso.

Halos wala.

“Sige po,” sabi ko.

Tumayo ako. At alam ko sa sarili kong muli akong lolokohin ng sistema. Pero anong magagawa ko?

Kumakalam na ang sikmura ko.
