๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ก๐, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฎโโYour values, I hope that they remain,โ University President Dr. Anita G. David reminds 202 fourth-year pre-service teachers of the College of Education as they venture into their journey toward the teaching profession during the Pinning Ceremony at the Bren Z. Guiao Multipurpose Center this morning.
Organized by College of Education Student Council (CESC), the program recognized the transition of 22 BEEd students, 36 BPEd students, 43 BSEd English students, 15 BSEd Filipino students, 14 BSEd Mathematics students, 15 BSEd Science students, 30 BTLEd HE students, and 27 BTLEd IA students into their partner schools.
In his opening remarks, CoEd Dean Dr. Elmer P. Calaguas urged the pre-service teachers to carry respect and responsibility with them as they work with their cooperating teachers, students, and fellow practice teachers, citing the recent news in DepEd schools.
โAlways protect yourselfโฆ always give respect kung saan man kayo mapuntaโsa inyong mga cooperating teachers, sa inyong mga students, at mga kasamang practice teachers. Yun ang inaasahan ko sa inyo,โ Dr. Calaguas said.
Dr. Anita G. David also challenged the future educators to create a meaningful impact on the learners under the basic education.
โI hope that you would have a great impact on the Department of Educationโฆ ang pangarap ko yung mga pupuntahan ninyo at mga estudyante doon ay mas maging marunong magbasa at magcomprehend nang dahil sa inyong mga estudyante ng Pampanga State Agricultural University,โ President David said.
On the other hand, fourth-year BSEd Mathematics student Higinio Y. San Pedro III shared his sentiments on the role of educators and looks forward to taking part in shaping their studentsโ values and behavior.
โI have worries dahil sa mga current news ngayon, kasi ang values dapat tinuturo sa bahay pero ngayon as teachers responsibilidad din namin ang mga behavior ng students. We donโt just teach the subject matter, you also teach the values,โ San Pedro said.
Beyond marking their progress toward practice teaching, San Pedro further reflected on his journey as the pin symbolized the values and lessons they have accumulated throughout their college years.
โThis pin symbolized the progress Iโve made for the past three years. Lahat ng tinuro sa amin, lahat ng values na binigay sa amin, it is our time to give back to the community especially to our students,โ he added.
Marking the start of their journey in their partner schools, the pre-service teachers are set to begin their practice teaching on October 7 and continue until March 12, carrying with them not only the knowledge they gained from the university but also the values expected of them as future educators.
