𝗦𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 | The Kilusan Kontra Korap opened the day’s protests, followed by the “Bahain ng Protesta ang mga Kurap at Pasista” rally led by Anakbayan Pampanga and Bayan Gitnang Luzon, as various sectors, organizations, and citizens from across Pampanga flooded the streets at Plaza Miranda in Angeles City on September 21, 2025, voicing opposition to corruption and calling for justice and accountability.

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | Masses crowd Angeles City as various organizations and youth groups unite for the “Bahain ng Protesta ang mga Kurap at Pasista” protest today, September 21.

Igniting the event is an assembly in front of Holy Rosary Parish that will be followed by a march towards Plaza Miranda for the main program. The gathering calls for accountability and action against corruption and injustice.

Initiated by Kilusan Kontra Korap — Pampanga which consists of civic groups, fraternities, sororities, students and other Pampanga-based youth representatives, the rally is an extension of the “Baha sa Luneta: Aksyon Laban sa Korapsyon” and “Trillion Peso March,” being held along the EDSA People Power Monument.

The multitude also serves as a commemoration of the 53rd Martial Law declaration in today’s National Day of Protest.

𝗛𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗶.

Setyembre 21, 1972-dinurog ng deklarasyon ng Batas Militar ang kalayaan ng sambayanang Pilipino. Isang taong pinili ng bayan ang mas piniling wakasan ang kalayaan ng kanyang nasasakupan, diktadura ang kanyang landas na iginiit sa Bayan.

Sa isang iglap, isinara ang mga pahayagan, pinatahimik ang mga kritiko, ibinilanggo ang mga walang sala, at itinuring na kaaway ng estado ang mismong tinig ng mamamayan. Ang diktadura'y naghasik ng lagim: bumagsak ang ekonomiya, lumaganap ang korapsyon, at inagawan ng dangal at karapatan ang Bayan. Naging p**a ang lupa ng bansang sinilangan.

Ngayon, 53 taon ang lumipas, hindi pa rin natatapos ang pakikibaka. Kahit walang opisyal na deklarasyon ng Martial Law, nananalaytay pa rin ang panunupil at pang-aabuso. Ang mga sugat ng nakaraan ay hindi pa naghihilom dahil may mga naghahangad na ulitin, burahin, baguhin, at baluktutin ang kasaysayan.

Ang mapayapang pakikibaka ay hindi tinututulan ng publikasyon. Sa katunayan, kinikilala natin ito bilang pinakapusod ng tinig ng bayan, isa sa tunay na sandata ng sambayanan. Napatunayan na ito ng kasaysayan-sa EDSA People Power Revolution noong 1986, nagwakas ang diktadura hindi dahil sa baril kundi dahil sa milyon-milyong Pilipinong nagtipon, nagmartsa, at nagsabi ng sapat na. Sa lansangan, muling isinilang ang demokrasya, muling bumukas ang midya, at muling itinindig ang karapatang pantao.

At ngayong araw ng paggunita, habang may mga kababayan tayong muling nagtitipon at nagpoprotesta sa lansangan, ipinapakita nilang buhay ang diwa ng bayaning handang lumaban para sa katotohanan. Malinaw ang mensahe: hindi kailanman luluhod ang bayan sa sinumang magnanais muling agawin ang ating kalayaan.

Ang Sinukuan Gazette ay nakikiisa sa pag-alala at pakikibaka. Sapagkat tayo’y anak ng araw, anak ng liwanag, at hindi dapat muling magpagapi sa dilim ng kasaysayan.

𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗡𝗢 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗦𝗔𝗨 | 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝘇𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀

When we provide individuals with a space where they can openly voice their insights, we make room for the true essence of democracy. More than ever, exercising freedom of speech on an extensive range of topics has never been this easy with the multiplication of communities across online platforms. The creation of PSAU Freedom Wall, a social media page being managed by an unknown admin, is seen to be an effective medium for PSAU students’ concerns and comments on various campus affairs.

However, recent submissions have reported instances of discrimination and mistreatment experienced by LGBTQIA+ students on campus. And what is even more disturbing is that these actions were allegedly committed by some faculty members.

While such accounts are anonymized, it has to be clear that 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺, 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, especially in one that takes pride in being inclusive and compassionate. It is generic that campuses must be safe spaces—places where students, despite cultural and gender diversity, can grow without fear.

For this, professors are assumed to foster respectful and supportive learning environments. Any abuse of authority, driven by prejudice or personal bias, is a serious violation of that responsibility.

Sinukuan Gazette stands in solidarity with those who have felt marginalized or dehumanized because of their identities. We urge the PSAU administration to look into these accounts with urgency and fairness.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 I As part of the Buwan of Wika celebration, seven student organizations from the College of Education (CoEd) participates in the much awaited Lakan at Lakambini as loud cheers and energetic chants echo the halls at the Bren Z. Guiao Multipurpose today, September 17, 2025.

The awarding proper will take place after the celebration including several competitions as part of the event.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗕𝗦𝗔 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀’ 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲

𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚, 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮—To officially mark their readiness for the professional training, about 190 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Animal Science (BSA-AS) students were pinned during the BSA Pinning Ceremony on September 12, 2025 at the Bren Z. Guiao Multipurpose Center.

Spearheaded by the Pampanga State Agricultural University - Animal Science Society (PSAU-ASS), the event is a department tradition inaugurated in 2023 that continues to symbolize the students’ preparedness to apply their academic knowledge to their fieldwork.

After receiving their pins, the students admitted feeling overwhelmed during the ceremony, but also shared a sense of relief and joy as they reflected on the milestone they had achieved and the journey that lay ahead.

“Masaya dahil sa journey na napagdaaan namin nakarating kami dito and shempre after nito may other journey na naman para ma-experience,” Xander Latosa shared.

For others like Rica Ayeras, the ceremony holds a deeper meaning. She compares the pin to an achievement that signifies that she’s about to cross the finish line and take on the real world as an agriculturist.

Looking ahead, the students also recognized the value of the next step they are about to take — the farm practice.

“Itong farm practice namin parang training ground namin ito para sa realidad na gagampanan namin after nitong school [dahil] kung ano yung natutunan namin dito [ay] ia-apply namin talaga sa trabaho na gagawin namin,” Latosa explained.

Meanwhile, Ayeras stressed that their hands-on training is not just a graduation requirement but also a step toward her future as an agriculturist contributing to the country’s agricultural sector.

“Patunay talaga siya na malapit ka na maging professional as a major in animal science. Like, magiging agriculturist ka na, isa ka na sa massive contribution sa agriculture lalo na nasa Pilipinas tayo,” she said.

Aside from the formal pinning ceremony for the 4th-year students set for their farm practice, the event is also paired with the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar that tackled proper ethics and safety during fieldwork, highlighting ways to uphold animal welfare standards and biosecurity measures.

“The students should know that learning isn't the only aspect of farm practice, but to also contribute to the community and the industry of agriculture,” emphasized Russel Castro, President of the PSAU-ASS.

Castro also left his fellow BSA AS students with words of encouragement, saying:

“A pinning ceremony represent your readiness as animal science majors to pursue professional academic training outside campus. For those that have been bestowed their respective pins, strive for excellence in your field and remain humble with a good heart. However, for those that are yet to be given a pin, persevere and find your stride, because your turn might come sooner than expected.”

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Animal Science held their third Pinning Ceremony and Pre-Departure Orientation at the Bren Z. Guiao Multipurpose Center on September 12, 2025.

The tradition marks a new chapter for future agriculturists as they prepare to transition into professional academic training. It also serves as a significant milestone, formally recognizing them as trainees in the field of animal science.
