For the first time in recorded history, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jawf desert was blanketed in snow a breathtaking transformation of golden dunes into shimmering white hills.

The rare weather event followed a powerful mix of heavy rain and hailstorms, which, combined with a sudden temperature drop, created the perfect conditions for snow to form and settle across the desert landscape.

Meteorologists explain that moist air from the Arabian Sea collided with warm desert currents, triggering this extraordinary phenomenon something almost unimaginable in one of the world’s driest regions.

Locals and travelers alike were left in awe as they witnessed the desert’s transformation into a snowy panorama, with scenes more reminiscent of alpine slopes than sandy plains.

A reminder that nature never stops surprising us even the hottest places on Earth can have their moment of winter magic. 🌨️✨

Remember, what is meant for you will never miss you, and what misses you was never meant for you. Trust in Allah’s perfect plan.

If something slipped from your grasp, know that it was by His wisdom. He is Al-Hakeem, the All-Wise, and Al-Wakeel, the Best Disposer of Affairs.

Instead of dwelling on what was lost, focus on striving for what pleases Him, for He only withholds to give something better.

If you arrive late for salah and the congregation (jama‘ah) has already started, here’s the Islamic ruling according to the Sunnah:

🌙 1. Join immediately

You should join the jama‘ah right away — no need to wait for the next rak‘ah. Even if the imam is in ruku‘ (bowing), go straight into ruku‘ after saying takbiratul ihram (Allahu Akbar) and then takbir for ruku‘ again.

🌙 2. What you catch counts

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whatever you catch (of the prayer), pray it, and whatever you miss, complete it.” — (Bukhari & Muslim)

Meaning: If you join in ruku‘ of the second rak‘ah, you’ve caught that rak‘ah. After the imam says tasleem, you simply stand up and complete the number of rak‘ahs you missed.

🌙 3. Example

If the prayer is 4 rak‘ah (like ‘Isha) and you join at the 3rd rak‘ah, → when the imam finishes, you stand up and pray 2 more rak‘ahs to complete your 4.

🌙 4. Extra note

It’s disliked (makruh) to run to catch the jama‘ah. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“When the prayer is established, do not run, but walk calmly and pray for what you catch, and complete what you missed.” — (Bukhari & Muslim)
