JUST IN: Powerful Magnitude 7.6 Earthquake Jolts Davao Oriental

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck Davao Oriental on October 10, 2025, at 9:43 AM, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). The tremor had a depth of 10 kilometers and was located at 07.09°N, 127.09°E, approximately 62 km south 77° east of Manay, Davao Oriental.

Authorities are closely monitoring potential aftershocks and assessing any damage caused by the quake. Residents in coastal areas are advised to remain vigilant and follow updates from PHIVOLCS and local disaster management offices.

The earthquake was felt across parts of Mindanao, prompting precautionary evacuations in some areas. Response teams have been mobilized to check affected communities for possible casualties or structural damage.

PHIVOLCS continues to urge the public to stay calm, prepare for aftershocks, and rely only on official information sources.
