You want to be a chef? Alright. But here’s the truth first:
1. There are no shortcuts.
There’s no such thing as an instant chef. Everyone went through exhaustion, burns, and being yelled at. If you’re not ready for tough work, this might not be for you.
2. The kitchen is hot. Loud. Fast.
Sometimes you won’t even get a break. Sometimes, all you’ve had is water your whole shift.
3. “Pwede na” (That’s good enough) doesn’t fly here.
Everything that leaves the kitchen must have quality, timing, and heart. Bare minimum isn’t enough.
4. Here, you’ll learn discipline, respect, and patience.
The kitchen doesn’t just teach skills. It shapes attitude, teamwork, and consistency the real foundation of being a chef.
5. No experience? That’s okay.
But you must know how to carry heavy loads, clean, listen, and handle fatigue. As long as you’re willing to learn, there’s a place for you in the kitchen.
6. You’ll miss Christmas, birthdays, and important occasions.
Long hours are normal. Sometimes, you’re on call too. This is part of the life.
7. Respect comes before the title.
Even if you’re not a chef yet, you can earn respect as long as you stay true to the work.
8. Your time will come.
If you commit to discipline every day, you’ll go far. And everyone’s welcome here especially those who are willing to learn. 🤝
