Weโ€™re thrilled to share an update on the 10 students Lighthouse Club Manila is sponsoring at Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines, Inc. as they pursue their TESDA NC II/III certification!

With the first semester successfully completed, two of our trustees, Weston Reece and Stephen Free, along with our Club Administrator, Ms. Lou Sauro, visited the students. It was inspiring to see their progress! Not only were they looking sharp in their Lighthouse polo shirts, but they are all ๐ฉ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ค๐ž๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐Ÿ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ.

๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ข๐ซ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž: ๐Ž๐‰๐“ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐„๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐…๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ
Our mission, however, goes beyond just paying tuition. The next critical steps for these students are securing ๐Ž๐ง-๐ญ๐ก๐ž-๐‰๐จ๐› ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  (๐Ž๐‰๐“) and then a ๐ ๐š๐ข๐ง๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐ฃ๐จ๐› upon graduation. This is where the Lighthouse network steps in.

We are actively developing a ๐Œ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐€๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ (๐Œ๐Ž๐€) with Don Bosco to create a direct pipeline for our members. This means:

โ€ข ๐„๐ฑ๐œ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐€๐œ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ: Lighthouse members will get the first opportunity to review the resumes and details of ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ construction-related studentsโ€”including those we sponsorโ€”who are ready for OJT as we aim to directly link students studying in-demand construction skills with our member companies.

This process ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐ข๐ซ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž of education, practical training, and long-term employment, ensuring these bright, skilled individuals become the future leaders of the Filipino construction industry.

Thank you to everyone who joined our Lighthouse Club Manila Quiz Night at Handlebar on 29 October 2025.
It was an enjoyable evening of friendly competition, challenging questions, and great camaraderie among members and friends.

Congratulations to our winning team Fil-Amnesia (whose team members were Chris Edwards, Jennifer Edwards, James Soriano, Maybelle Perdido) and to all who took home raffle prizes.

Special thanks to Handlebar, the organizing team from our Board of Trustees, namely Weston Reece, Julian Smith and Michael McKenzie, and to Lou Sauro, our administrator, for ensuring the evening ran smoothly.

The summit provided an excellent platform for meaningful discussions, networking, and collaboration across the construction and business communities.
