A police captain was killed after being shot while conducting surveillance in Sitio Balaw, Barangay Sudlon 2, Cebu City, around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
The victim was identified as Police Captain Joel Deiparine, assigned to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)βLapu-Lapu City Field Unit. He sustained gunshot wounds to the body.
