Warning: Long post—pero kailangan.
Let’s cut the sugar-coating. Some people say “rest in peace,” but peace is earned, not automatically granted—lalo na kung may iniwan kang buhay na ginulo, pamilya na naapektuhan, at taong nadamay dahil sa sariling kapabayaan. Condolences to the family, yes… but let’s not romanticize someone’s “riding skills” when those same skills were used recklessly.

Because the truth is simple: Kung kamote ka magmaneho, kamote rin ang magiging obituary mo.

Now, let’s address the Marilaque circus with brutal honesty:

1. Sino ba talaga ang may kasalanan?

Hindi enforcer. Hindi pulis. Hindi kalsada.
It’s the same predictable answer every time: the reckless rider—the one who treats public roads like a personal racetrack.

People love saying, “Dagdagan dapat ng enforcers para mabawasan aksidente.”
Sure. Pero kahit may barangay of enforcers pa d’yan, kung ang may hawak ng manibela ay walang disiplina at may “I’m invincible” mentality, wala ring mangyayari.

And with today’s tech?
May intercom pa, may radio pa, nag-aalertuhan kapag may enforcer.
Imagine that—teamwork para umiwas sa batas.
Kung gaano ka-high tech ang gadgets, ganoon ka-low tech ang utak.

2. Sino ang contributors sa kaguluhan?

Photographers, vloggers, and the “pa-picture muna bago sumemplang” crowd.
Let’s be fair—they’re not the root cause.
But they add fuel to the fire.
Konting anggulo lang, may nagmo-model na agad for profile pic, MyDay, or cinematic story—kahit nasa public road sila at hindi movie set.

Hindi kasalanan ng mga photographers per se—trabaho or hobby nila ‘yan.
Pero hindi rin natin puwedeng i-deny na they increase the distraction factor, and distractions on a twisty mountain road are basically a recipe for disaster.

3. Solution?

Sadly, wala pa.
Unless mag-evolve ang natural selection at gawin nito overtime ang trabaho ng traffic enforcers, we’re stuck with the same cycle.

But if I could wish for something?
Ma-filter out sana lahat ng kamoteng riders para bumalik ang dating Marilaque—
Tahimik.
Safe.
Enjoyable.
Walang ambush corner from a speeding genius testing the limits of physics.

And maybe one day, our laws will improve—something like:
“If you followed the rules and someone reckless crashed into you, ikaw ang lusot. Siya ang magdusa. Period.”
Fairness at its finest.

Hangga’t walang disiplina ang ilan sa mga rider, tuloy-tuloy ang mga aksidente d’yan.
And the worst part?
It’s always the innocent ones who pay the highest price for someone else’s arrogance.
