Massive Freeze Order Hits DPWH Flood Project Scandal

The government has moved decisively against alleged corruption in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), with the Court of Appeals issuing a freeze order on the bank accounts and assets of individuals tied to questionable flood control projects in Bulacan. DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon confirmed on Tuesday, September 16, that 135 bank accounts and 27 insurance policies are now under a freeze order following his request to the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).

Eastern Arabia’s Christian Archaeological Heritage Discussed at Historic Conference

Manama: A two-day conference focused on the preservation and shared value of Christian archaeological sites in Eastern Arabia concluded its first day of discussions yesterday, bringing together a diverse group of archaeologists, researchers, government officials, leaders of various Christian groups, and members of the media. The conference, titled “Christian Archaeological Sites in Eastern Arabia: Towards a Shared Heritage,” was hosted by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) in collaboration with the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance. The event aimed to foster a collaborative approach to protecting these significant historical sites.
