Your actions told me to stop, so I did.
It wasn't the words you didn't say,
but the ones your behavior screamed
loud and clear.
You pulled away,
you shut down, and you left me
You left me with no choice but to step back.
I wanted to keep fighting, to keep trying,
but your actions showed me there was nothing
There's nothing left to fight for.
So I stopped.
I let go.
Because sometimes,
the hardest thing to do is listen
Listen to what isn't being said
and respect the truth it reveals.
