Classroom beyond four walls, we brought the kids to see the visiting Amerigo Vespucci in Manila's South Harbor. It's a 93 year old Italian Training Ship, also known as the World's Most Beautiful Ship.

A part of Z's Kindergarten feast is the story of Enrique de Mallaca, and we follow his story around the globe. Having seen an actual ship, it has helped pique her interest more towards this story.

At home, we traced back the route of Amerigo Vespucci and looked for the countries where it has been before coming to Manila on the kids' play globe. And then we went back to Enrique's story and did some mapwork from his hometown in Cebu to the slave market in Mellaca. A great culminating activity as Quarter 1 comes to a close. We'll find out what happens next in his story on Quarter 2!

Happy how yesterday turned out. ❤️ These kids spent their time yesterday playing outdoors with leaves and branches.

We went back to Parks & Wildlife. The first time we went here, we joined an event to learn nature journaling tapos umulan ng malakas. 😅 This time, we went back with a good weather, so nasulit ng mga bata ang visit sa park. They were pretty occupied the entire time. 5hrs din kami andyan. 🤭 They know what to do. Pretend camp, nature study, walking around – punta sa aviary at mini zoo. Ang kalaban lang namin yung topak ng batang maliit na lumalaban sa antok. 😂

I was happy watching them play like this for hours. 🍃

My Kindergarten, catching-up on some 🗺️ mapwork and 🌿 nature journaling on a public holiday.

No, we didn't go on a school break today. Instead, I look forward to the one week break after this quarter. 😃

As we enter the 2nd half of the 1st quarter, Z has established her habit of doing keepings daily. It is what she looks forward to after her lessons. Most of the time using watercolor to portray one of the stories. She may have said yes to being homeschooled when I told her she can paint. And so she does it every chance she gets. 🤭

For the past weeks, Z has shown great interest in her Science lessons. While our Language Arts need some adjustments to find what works for her. We are taking a step back to meet her where she is. And that is one of the beauties of CM homeschooling. ❤️
