I am honoured and grateful to have been invited and included by the International HR Institute as a panelist at the 2025 Recruiters’ Summit Manila. This was not just an opportunity to share my insights in HR and organizational development, but also a chance to engage in meaningful dialogue with fellow professionals about the future of talent and recruitment in the Philippines and beyond.

Being an HR professional, I know that the recruitment function is increasingly shaped by legal frameworks: data privacy in applicant tracking, non-discrimination obligations, contractual safeguards for remote and hybrid work arrangements. The Recruiters' Summit highlighted these legal touch‐points and equip practitioners with knowledge to ensure not only effective talent acquisition, but also regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

In the Philippines, the recruitment ecosystem is vibrant yet evolving. Employers are contending with generational shifts, technological disruption and rising demands for flexibility and purpose‐driven work. Hopefully, I was able to contribute from my own experiences in the same way that I was also able to capture and absorb the insights of others.

In an era where talent is the differentiator and the “people agenda” sits at the heart of business strategy, HR professionals must continuously elevate our practice.

I was going through some of the candidate profiles when I realized that some of the applicants are having a hard time "marketing" themselves. It is interesting hat some of the CVs contain a copy-pasted job description and do not necessarily talk about what they have accomplished.
