Anyone who owns and drives his own car should know what preventive maintenance is. The obvious things that we check would be the gas, the tires, the brakes.... but there are some car troubles that an expert mechanic can diagnose properly. But before any car troubles come, make sure that you have a regular check-up of your car to prevent getting stalled, or worse meet an accident.
So if you understand this, businesses use a lot of mechanical and electronic equipment - whether it be a printer, photocopier, or much bigger, a generator set, or a fire pump - all these should have a regular maintenance schedule. We call this the Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS).
The photo shows the advantages of having PMS:
1. Extends the equipment's life span
2. Reduce expenses in repairs and unwanted replacements
3. Decrease downtime in your operation
4. Improve Safety within your work areas
5. Limit Energy Consumption with a well-maintained equipment
6. Increase productivity - having well-maintained equipment makes work lighter and faster
7. Plan effectively - we can look forward to whatever upcoming projects with little to no delays
