-Track your expenses meticulously: Know exactly where your money goes
-Categorize your spending as to essential needs (food, utilities, housing, healthcare, transportation) over discretionary wants (eating out, excessive entertainment, etc.)

-Continue to check the media for emergency information
-Follow instructions from public safety officials. If advised to evacuate, do so immediately.
-If you must evacuate your home, take only essential items and bring your pets if safe to do so.

If you must evacuate or are travelling during flooding, remember:
-Do not walk through flowing water. Most drowning occur during flash floods. Six inches of swiftly moving water can knock you off of your feet.
-Remember the phrase “Turn around don’t drown” -Don’t drive through flooded roads, your car can be swept away in only two feet of moving water.
-Do not drive around road barriers. Roads and bridges may be washed out or structurally unsound

Every industry has its own critical exposure unknown to many are special hazards such as Dust Explosion which is an inherent risk in most food manufacturing operation.

CRMI would like to share with you tips in avoiding Dust Explosion in your premises.

What is Dust Explosion?
-It is the rapid combustion of fine particles suspended in the air within an enclosed location.
-It occurs where any dispersed powdered combustible material is present in high-enough concentrations in the atmosphere or other oxidizing gaseous medium.

Factors that contribute to the occurrence of a Dust Explosion are…
-A combustible dust
-The dust is dispersed in the air within certain flammability limits.
-There is an oxidant (typically atmospheric oxygen).
-There is an ignition source.
-The area is confined - a building can be an enclosure.
