We are considering buying an electric vehicle due to the high and increasing gas prices. Infrastructure-readiness is one of our key considerations. Just want to document our experience and maybe help others, who are considering buying an EV, along the way.

I opened an MP2 account before but forgot all about it. Jeff and I went to the nearest Pag-IBIG Fund (HDMF) office to check the status of my account. Lo and behold… it’s inactive 😂

Take aways during my 47 minute stay in Pag-IBIG:

1. Your MP2 will not be activated until you put money into it. If the status of your account is UNFUNDED, then it’s still inactive.

2. You have to be early to avail of the Pag-IBIG Loyalty card. I’m not sure if this only applies to the Ayala the 30th branch but only the first 60 applicants can get the loyalty card per day.

3. Make sure the forms that will be given to you at the information booth is updated. When Jeff reached the counter, he was told that the MP2 application form is already outdated. There were also additional requirements needed to open an MP2 account. It would have been helpful if that was mentioned by ate girl in the information booth.

4. There’s water dispenser so you can drink if you get thirsty. Paper cups are available too!

5. Pag-IBIG is open from Mondays to Saturdays, 7am to 5pm.
