As the summer holidays end and school starts back up I’m thinking about this more and more. Whilst a perfect home might be nice, it’s definitely not the real point of design. A lived in home in the best kind - whatever that looks like for you (this weekend my newsletter is about a perfectly lived in holiday home). But living with this mini monster was all I ever dreamed of - and now I have two of them to contend with 💖💖

ad I definitely life my life by this William Morris quote: “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. “ And it’s what has inspired ’s new collection of kitchen rolls, toilet paper, tissues and soaps. Each is adorned with a William Morris print, so you won’t want them hiding away in a cupboard.

Fresh air! If you’ve followed along for a while you’ll know this house has only had ONE window that opens so it’s been impossible to air out or ventilate. We were opening all the doors and hoping for the best, until finally we’ve had a few absolutely beautiful double glazed windows put in, which open all the way up. I can’t tell you how happy they’ve made me 🥹 Painted in Joa’s White from Farrow and Ball. Eventually all the windows and doors apart from the front door will be that colour. Eventually!!

ad This was such an exciting project to work on because it was for my beloved parents!! Designing a bathroom with them in mind was so much fun even though having them as clients drove me up the wall 😂. But the floor tiles - once we’d all agreed on them - set the tone. Then next I knew I wanted panelling, and we went for the a rhubarb pink paired with apple green, pulling the colours from the floor. We’re all in love with this space now. It was so boring and beige, but now it’s so much fun.
