As Acting Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Makilala, and in view of the adverse weather conditions brought about by Tropical Storm Basyang, I hereby declare the suspension of classes at all levels (public/private), for the welfare, safety and security of our learners. In view thereof, DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2024 must be adhered to. [ alternative delivery modes (ADM) to ensure educational continuity.]

This declaration is made upon the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

Residents are advised to remain vigilant, stay indoors when possible, and continuously monitor official announcements from the local government and concerned authorities.

Isang mainit na pagsaludo sa lahat ng ating mga dakilang g**o ngayong World Teachers’ Day!

Sa araw na ito, ating kinikilala ang mahalagang papel na ginagampanan ng ating mga g**o sa pagtaguyod ng matatag na sambayanan at maliwanag na kinabukasan para sa ating mga kabataan.

Hindi lingid sa amin ang sakripisyo na inyong ginugugol upang hubugin ang kanilang kakayahan, dunong, at pundasyon ng kanilang pagpapahalaga at pagkatao.

Ngayon, kaming lahat ay nagbibigay-pugay sa inyong malaking kontribusyon sa pag-unlad ng inyong propesyon at sa pagsulong ng potensyal at kasanayan ng mga kabataang Pilipino.

Hangad namin ang inyong patuloy na tagumpay, kalakasan at kalusugan, at nakikiisa kami sa inyong mga mithiin para sa kapakanan ng ating kabataan at bayan.

MNHS Students Showcase Exceptional Honesty

Three Grade 12 students from Makilala National High School, Bianca Dapan, Jecel Mae Madot, and Raniella Tecson, have demonstrated remarkable honesty by returning a lost sum of money worth approximately PHP 30,000 to its rightful owner, Mr. Moisan Quiao Omapas. The incident occurred on July 11, 2025, near the school premises.

Mr. Omapas lost a substantial amount of money and was overjoyed when the students, without hesitation, reported the find to the school authorities. Their selfless act is a testament to the strong values of honesty instilled in them.

Mr. Omapas personally visited the school to express his gratitude to the students for their integrity. The Makilala National High School community is proud of Bianca, Jecel, and Raniella's actions, which reflect the importance of honesty in everyday life.

Honesty is a fundamental value that builds trust, fosters genuine relationships, and contributes to a just society. By choosing to return the lost money, the students demonstrated Integrity for standing true to their values and principles; responsibility for taking ownership of their actions; and empathy for considering the impact of their actions on others.

The school administration under the leadership of the school principal Zaldy L. Bornea together with their class adviser Ms. Denden A. Madrio also extends their congratulations to Bianca, Jecel Mae and Raniella for their good deed.
