“As We Slowly Fade”
(Inspired by a fading friendship)
We smiled beneath the shaded trees,
Where sunlight danced with gentle breeze.
Two hearts once close, now far away,
Still sharing laughs—but not to stay.
Your hand in mine, a fleeting thread,
The warmth remains, though words are dead.
We pose for pictures, side by side,
But silence lingers, deep inside.
The leaves still fall, the skies still blue,
But time has changed the shade of you.
What once was bright begins to blur,
Like songs half-sung we used to stir.
Not angry, no, nor filled with pain,
Just soft goodbyes like morning rain.
A friendship fading—not erased—
But slipping gently, not replaced.
And if we meet in dreams or air,
I’ll smile, still glad that you were there.
Some hearts don’t stay, but once they did—
And that alone, I won’t forbid.
