Calm the seas they navigate, protect the ships they serve on, and strengthen them in moments of fear and uncertainty.

Grant them courage when they are weary, healing when they are unwell, and comfort when they feel alone. Surround their families with peace and assurance, and may they always find refuge in Your love and protection.

⚠️ SAFETY ADVISORY FOR SEAFARERS⚠️

Strait of Hormuz | Waters Near Israel | Israeli & Iranian Ports

Routes through the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters near Israel and Iran remain high risk zones due to ongoing military tensions, missile threats, drone activity, and heavy naval presence.

Merchant vessels are civilian, but that does not guarantee immunity from escalation or misidentification.

WHAT YOU MUST EXPECT:

• Increased military patrols and coastal defense systems
• Possible drone surveillance or UAV activity
• Risk of missile fire or fast attack craft in extreme scenarios
• AIS interference or signal jamming
• Sudden security alerts without notice

HOW TO PREPARE BEFORE ENTERING:

• File a detailed voyage plan including alternate routes
• Notify charterers, flag state, and company security officer
• Conduct a full crew security briefing
• Test GMDSS, AIS, radar, and satellite communications
• Verify firefighting systems, liferafts, EPIRBs, and survival gear
• Review emergency drills for fire, missile impact, or small boat approach

DURING TRANSIT:

• Maintain enhanced lookout day and night
• Keep continuous listening watch on VHF Channel 16
• Avoid unnecessary course changes
• Record and report suspicious contacts immediately
• Keep steady speed and clear identification signals

IN PORT:

• Coordinate closely with port authorities and agents
• Secure gangways and restrict non-essential access
• Maintain deck lighting discipline at night

If approached by military or coastal forces, comply calmly. Reduce speed safely, maintain communication, and avoid sudden maneuvers.

These waters demand professionalism and discipline. Preparation is not optional.
