On 31st August - Meta launched the Content Monetization Program - combining In-Stream Ads, Reels Ads, and Performance Bonuses into one powerful framework.
Here's what changed and how to check if you're eligible:
What's New:
β All monetization tools now under one dashboard
β Photos, text posts, Reels, and videos can all earn money
β Performance-based payouts based on views, engagement, and watch time
β Transparent eligibility requirements in one place
How to Check Your Eligibility:
For pages:
1. Go to Meta Business Suite β Monetization tab
2. Select your Page from dropdown
3. Check your status:
-Green = Eligible
-Yellow = Issues to fix
-Red = Not eligible yet
4. Click "View Page eligibility" for specific tool requirements
For Personal Profiles:
1. Open Facebook app β Professional Dashboard
2. Tap "Tools to Try" β Monetization
3. See available programs or "Criteria not met" message
Eligibility Requirements:
In-Stream Ads: 10K followers, 600K watch minutes (60 days), 5+ active videos, 18+
Fan Subscriptions: 10K followers or 250+ returning viewers, 50K+ post engagements, 18+
Stars: 18+, 100+ followers, live/gaming content, policy compliance
Meta launched this so that instead of juggling multiple payout programs, creators now have one unified system that can monetize every type of content they create.
The bigger opportunity:
Many creators focus only on video monetization and ignore that photos and text posts can now generate revenue through this program.
And hereβs the thing - Facebook is paying more for text & image posts vs reels.
How much time does it really take to write a text post? Maybe 30 minutes?
But, itβs hell of a lot less than YouTube videos or reels + it costs literally nothing to write a text post.
The upside? Itβs massive.
What you should do right now:
1. Check your eligibility status immediately
2. Enable any tools you qualify for
3. Review requirements for tools you don't qualify for yet
4. Create a plan to hit those thresholds
5. Start with text & image posts - the payouts are greater than reels
Facebook just made it easier to monetize your content across all formats. But eligibility requirements are still strict, and most creators don't even know this unified system exists.
Check your status today. You might already qualify for monetization tools you didn't know were available.
Donβt leave money on the table.
