Cries of anguish echoed in Sitio Sinait Dagat, Valencia City as a mother demanded justice for her daughter, Jenniffer Encarnacion, a 15-year-old Grade 9 student who was found beheaded in a sugarcane fieldโ€”two days after she went missing.

Jenniffer was last seen on January 6, 2026, around 4:00 PM, walking home from Buco-Sinait Integrated High School. She never made it back.
On January 8, at 11:00 AM, her decapitated body was discovered in a sugarcane field in Purok Sinait Dagat, Kidavao.

Jenniffer Encarnacion, 15, was a quiet, diligent student and resident of Sitio Sinait Dagat. Her sudden disappearance and gruesome death have left her family and community in shock.

Desperate to find her, the family cleared the land and sought help from a local seer, who allegedly pointed to the exact location of her remains.
The body was found with the head severed, confirming the familyโ€™s worst fears.

This was not the first attempt. According to the family, Jenniffer had previously escaped an assault in the same area.
Barangay Councilor Zapanta confirmed they have a person of interest and are pursuing leads.

The crime scene lies within a sugarcane field in Purok Sinait Dagat, a quiet farming area in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

Over โ‚ฑ200,000 reward has been raised for anyone who can identify the suspect.
Valencia LGU, barangay officials, and residents have condemned the brutal killing.
The Philippine National Police is now conducting a deeper investigation.
The family also reported suspicious deletion of Jennifferโ€™s social media files and photos, raising further concerns.

This case is more than a tragedyโ€”itโ€™s a wake-up call.
A young girlโ€™s life was taken in a place she once called home.
Now, a motherโ€™s cry for justice becomes a communityโ€™s call for truth, safety, and accountability.

LOOK | Zubiri Coupleโ€™s Education Advocacy Ignites Hope: From Ashes to Classrooms at New Nongnongan NHS

Don Carlos, Bukidnon โ€” A renewed sense of hope rises at New Nongnongan National High School as Congresswoman Audrey โ€œIndayโ€ Tan Zubiri, 3rd District Representative of Bukidnon, formally turned over two newly constructed classroomsโ€”an initiative completed even before the school suffered another devastating fire that destroyed five more classrooms.

The turnover ceremony became more than a symbolic handoverโ€”it became a moment of reckoning and renewal. School Principal Dr. Niel Tabamo laid bare the schoolโ€™s urgent needs: two buildings remain unrepaired since the 2019 earthquake, the Computer Science Laboratory was lost to fire last year, and just recently, another blaze gutted five more classrooms.

Congresswoman Zubiri, deeply moved by the schoolโ€™s resilience, reaffirmed her and Senator Juan Miguel โ€œMigzโ€ Zubiriโ€™s shared commitment to educationโ€”one of the coupleโ€™s core advocacies. โ€œEducation is not just a programโ€”itโ€™s our mission as public servants and as partners in nation-building,โ€ she said. โ€œLike ashes to Phoenixโ€”we will rise stronger.โ€

She assured the school community that she and Senator Zubiri will work together to secure funding for the construction of additional classrooms and facilities.

The event was also attended by Mayor Ma. Victoria O. Pizarro, Provincial Board Member Hon. Minerva Casinabe, the School District Supervisor, Barangay Chairwoman of Barangay New Nongnongan, DPWH officials, and the dedicated faculty of New Nongnongan NHSโ€”all united in support of the schoolโ€™s recovery and future.

Principal Tabamo expressed heartfelt gratitude: โ€œThis is more than a buildingโ€”itโ€™s a symbol of hope, of being heard, and of rising again. We are deeply thankful to the Zubiri family for standing with us.โ€
