Embracing Growth: My Journey from SFIST to Panasonic

Looking back at where I started, I can truly say that the journey has been both challenging and rewarding. I am Mary Noreen Balbalosa, a proud graduate of the Three-Year Diploma Program in Electronics and Computer Technology at the San Francisco Institute of Science and Technology (SFIST), Batch 2024. Today, I stand as a PED Technician at Panasonic Calamba, Laguna, a position I earned through perseverance, discipline, and the strong foundation built during my years at SFIST.

I was raised on my father’s side, surrounded by the love and guidance that shaped me into the person I am today. Their unwavering support, along with my deep faith in God, has helped me overcome the many challenges life has thrown my way. I learned that resilience is key, and with determination, no hurdle is too high to conquer.

SFIST instilled in me values that extend beyond technical knowledge. Time management, respect for others, and the importance of continuous self-improvement became my guiding principles. Being punctual, disciplined, and maintaining a growth mindset have been my pillars in the professional world. These qualities allowed me to transition smoothly from being a student to becoming a responsible employee.

One of the most significant blessings in my career was the partnership between TESDA-SFIST and Panasonic. This collaboration opened doors for students like me to experience independence and self-sufficiency. It taught me the real-world value of hard work, responsibility, and financial stability. The program didn’t just prepare me for employment; it equipped me with the skills and mindset necessary to navigate adulthood with confidence.

My journey at Panasonic began on March 11, 2024, as part of the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program. From there, I transitioned to a fixed-term position on August 26, 2024, and finally achieved regular employment status on February 26, 2025. Each stage was a stepping stone, a learning experience that reinforced the importance of dedication and continuous learning.

Reflecting on my journey, I realize that success is not just about reaching a destination—it is about embracing every step of the process. Every challenge, every lesson, and every opportunity contributes to our growth. As a regular employee, I continue to strive for excellence, always reminding myself that learning never stops. The best investment I have ever made is in my own personal and professional development—practicing every day, embracing new knowledge, and striving to be better than I was yesterday.

To my fellow SFIST graduates and aspiring professionals, my message is simple: Keep learning, stay disciplined, and value the work you do. Success is not instant—it is built through patience, hard work, and the right attitude. If we commit to constant growth, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

I am deeply grateful to TESDA, SFIST, and Panasonic for shaping my career and future. As I move forward, I carry with me the lessons, values, and experiences that will guide me toward even greater opportunities. The journey is far from over—but with determination, faith, and continuous effort, the best is yet to come.

JOURNEYING FROM CLASSROOM TO CAREER: MY PATH TO GROWTH AND SUCCESS

Looking back on my journey, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. My name is CIELO A. REODIQUE, and I am a proud graduate of the San Francisco Institute of Science and Technology (SFIST) in Malilipot, Albay. I completed the Three-Year Diploma Program in Electronics and Computer Technology as part of Batch 2024.

I grew up in Barangay Cavit, Manito, Albay, in a big and loving family with two siblings. Like many students, I often wondered what life after school would be like—how I would transition from the structured world of academics to the realities of the professional industry. That uncertainty fueled my determination to prepare myself for the challenges ahead.

My journey truly took shape when I joined the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program. On March 5, 2024, I stepped into the world of manufacturing as a trainee at Panasonic Industrial Devices Philippines Corporation in Calamba City, Laguna. It was a defining moment, not just because I was gaining real-world experience, but also because I was learning the value of independence.

Throughout my studies, I made sure to equip myself with the right skills and certifications to succeed. I earned National Certifications in Computer Systems Servicing NC II, Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing NC II, and Technical Drafting NC II. These credentials, along with my SIL training, gave me the confidence and technical expertise I needed to excel in my field.

Before joining SIL, financial struggles were a constant challenge. There were times when I had to set aside my wants because I didn’t want to burden my parents. But SIL changed that. Through this program, I learned how to earn and manage my finances, taking a huge step toward financial independence.

My dedication and hard work paid off when I was recognized as the Best SLA Inspector during my SIL training. That achievement motivated me to push even harder. By February 27, 2025, I transitioned from being a SIL trainee to a fixed-term/probationary employee, and once again, I was honored with the Best SLA Inspector award. Then, the moment I had been working toward finally arrived—I was given the incredible opportunity to become a regular employee at Panasonic.

More than just career growth, this journey transformed my mindset and attitude. I learned to stop dwelling on the negatives and instead focus on growth and self-improvement. SIL taught me the importance of responsibility, respect, and self-discipline, qualities that now guide me in both my personal and professional life.

I am beyond grateful for the TESDA-SFIST and Panasonic partnership, which has given students like me a chance to bridge the gap between education and employment. The transition from school to the workforce can be overwhelming, but with the right training, mindset, and determination, success is always within reach.

To my fellow students who are about to embark on this journey—embrace every learning opportunity, be open to challenges, and never stop striving for excellence. The world beyond the classroom is vast, and for those who are willing to work hard, endless opportunities await.

As I continue my journey as a regular employee at Panasonic, I carry with me the lessons, discipline, and values that SFIST and SIL instilled in me. I know this is just the beginning, and I am excited about what lies ahead!
