NEWS | SIMULAT Exhibit Opens at Casa Real Shrine

The Fine Arts students of Bulacan State University formally opened the “Gunita ng Pagkabata: SIMULAT” Painting Exhibit at the Museo ng Kasaysayang Pampulitika ng Pilipinas – Casa Real Shrine. Led by Fine Arts 4A students Amilein Abayon, Aelise Torres, and Harrold Muncal, the exhibit features artworks inspired by the students’ childhood memories and also in celebration of National Children’s Month. The opening was held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 21.

The program began with guest registration, followed by the opening prayer, National Anthem, BulSU Hymn, and BulSU March. After the hosts delivered the opening spiel and the venue organizers gave their opening remarks, certificates were awarded to both the guest speaker and the venue. The event concluded with closing remarks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

In an interview, Harrold Muncal shared that their biggest struggle was finding a venue.

He also explained that budget limitations affected their planning. “Mahirap lumipat-lipat nang walang budget. Matagal bago sumagot ang mga sponsors,” he said. Amilein Abayon added that they funded the entire exhibit themselves: “Galing lang ito sa pondo ng klase namin. Wala kaming natanggap na sponsorship.”

As graduating students, they also struggled with workload.

For future exhibitors, Harrold advised students to prepare early.

Meanwhile, Aelise Torres explained the meaning behind the theme SIMULAT.

The opening of “Gunita ng Pagkabata: SIMULAT” celebrated both artistic expression and the imaginative world of childhood, an inspiration the students hope visitors will reconnect with throughout the exhibit’s run. The exhibit runs from November 21 to 30. | via Aimee Villamor, CAFA Sketch

The Bulacan State University Student Government Ethics and Discipline Committee (BulSU SG EADC) released Memorandum No. 14 on Thursday, November 20.

The issuance follows Executive Order No. 10, released by the BulSU SG Office of the President on October 29, which directed the EADC to conduct a formal investigation into allegations of document falsification and misuse of office.

Under the memorandum, SG Senator Alvin Sagabaen is placed under preventive suspension. The order bars him from performing duties including, but not limited to, serving as Chairperson of the Public Relations and Societal Affairs Committee, representing the Student Government within or outside the University, and exercising any responsibilities outlined in the 2024 BulSU Student Government Constitution and By-Laws.

According to the EADC, the preventive suspension is intended to avoid undue influence on the ongoing investigation and to allow for early intervention. The suspension will remain in effect until the conclusion of the formal investigation. | via Angelie Dapitan, CAFA Sketch
