A gentle drizzle fell over the town of Mambajao on the evening of June 6, but it did little to dampen the vibrant spirit of the community as it marked the 170th Charter Day celebration with a grand Civic Light Parade. Among the participating institutions was Fatima College of Camiguin, Inc. (FCC), which joined local schools, agencies, and residents in lighting up the streets with music and glowing displays.
The atmosphere was festive and full of life as the parade wound its way through the town. School marching bands, civic organizations, and local groups proudly showcased brighten props, lanterns, and creative flashlight designs that transformed Mambajao’s dim roads into a dazzling spectacle of lights and color.
Despite the rain, spirits remained high. The soft glow from the floats and the rhythmic beat of drums brought a magical energy to the celebration, as bystanders cheered and joined in the joy of the evening.
One of the highlights of the night was the stellar performance by the FCC Marching Band. With synchronized steps and powerful musical arrangements, the band elevated the mood of the celebration and filled the air with hometown pride.
“Rain or shine, padayon lang gihapon,” said members of the FCC band, showing steadfast dedication and enthusiasm as they marched through the light-filled streets.
More than just a parade, the event was a meaningful tribute to the town’s history and a reflection of its commitment to cultural pride and community involvement. For FCC, it was an honor to be part of a celebration that brought together tradition, creativity, and unity under one glowing banner.
