SDS Dr. Loida Poncedeleon Palay Adornado, CESO VI Challenges Teachers to Elevate Language Instruction Skills for Global Competitiveness
In her address at the Division Training of Trainers on Upskilling English Teachers in Language Instruction, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Loida P. Adornado, CESO VI, challenged participants to apply the training strategies in their classrooms. She highlighted the need to improve learner outcomes to meet both national and international assessment standards, emphasizing that success relies on the commitment and expertise of trained educators.
The training, held from October 21-25 at Mindorenos Hotel and Restaurant, Mamburao, brought together select Elementary and Secondary School Heads, as well as English teachers from across the division. Dr. Adornado stressed the need for innovative approaches in addressing learning gaps to prepare students for success in a competitive global landscape. “Our learners deserve an education that empowers them on the global stage,” she stated.
Dr. Adornado underscored the importance of collaborative learning as participants shared best practices, assessed current methods, and developed actionable classroom strategies. She called on everyone to fully commit to translating these insights into effective language instruction, ensuring meaningful and globally relevant education for all learners.
She also highlighted the role of language skills in lifelong learning and critical thinking, urging teachers to cultivate reading, writing, and comprehension skills that extend beyond academic assessments. “This training is a call to action,” she said, “an opportunity to bridge language instruction gaps through evidence-based practices in every classroom.”
