If you want to leave your job without a hitch, you need to have a well-thought-out exit plan. Based on the sources given, here are three ways to leave your job when you decide to quit:
1. Get ready to leave right away: You should be ready for the possibility that you will be asked to leave right away after quitting. Before you turn in your letter, make sure you have all of your personal belongings and contact information ready. This will help you avoid any last-minute stress.
2. Give the Right Amount of Notice and Act Professionally: Giving two-four weeks' notice is still the standard way to quit a job. First, tell your direct boss, and then tell your coworkers. In your departure letter and exit interview, be polite, don't say bad things about the company, and focus on the good things that happened. Talk to HR about the specifics of your last paycheck, perks, and returning company property.
3. Construct a narrative revolving around your professional trajectory and subsequent departure, emphasizing your fortitude and drive:
In order to ensure a favorable departure, make the most of your final days by providing training for your replacement, composing a farewell email, and finalizing essentials such as benefits and references. Take charge of your narrative and concentrate on effectively managing yourself out of the employment.
