So I cross-posted this on Threads a few days ago, and I was shocked to find comments flooding the app yesterday. The responses I got ranged from condescending to helpful to supportive to openly mocking.

Background: I was driving home from an early event when, at a stoplight a few meters from the National Museum, the Philippine flag, which had been hoisted on the pole and was limp, suddenly began to slowly unfurl and wave. It was so beautiful.

I have seen many Philippine flags before (obviously). I've even seen bigger ones. If it is about size, if someone projects a Philippine flag on a theater screen before the first movie shows, then THAT would be the biggest Philippine flag I have ever seen, BUT ...

The point of my post was not "biggest flag". It was "the biggest waving Philippine flag" that I had ever seen ... IRL. I never said it was the biggest in NCR, in the entire Philippines, in the world. It was a personal experience.

People in the comments section had a field day. It was funny!
And if anyone is wondering if I have seen the one at the Rizal Monument, which is supposedly bigger, it is way up in the air on the supposedly tallest flagpole. While I acknowledge its size, because of perspective (aka distance from my eyes), it just isn't "the biggest I've (personally) seen IRL."

And can we, for a moment, allow me to get emotional and enjoy how it is beautifully waving? 👋
