Consistency
When we say consistency, we’re talking about something we choose to do daily, moment by moment. These repeated right choices build and strengthen our spiritual foundation. It’s not just about a weekly book study, a once-a-week discipleship meeting, or even regular Sunday services. Those are good, but they are not enough on their own.
A person will not truly grow, go deeper, or become rooted in Christ by relying only on weekly discipleship group gatherings, 1-to-1 sessions, or small group meetings. Real spiritual growth is formed in the quiet, daily walk with God. It is shaped by the small but constant right choices we make every single day.
And when we talk about daily choices, we mean daily quiet obedience that is based solely on our relationship with our Lord God, where our hunger and love for Him is the only motivation. And when love for God is the motivation, these daily choices are no longer heavy or burdensome, they become a delight. There is a deep joy that comes from choosing God moment by moment. This includes, primarily:
- Daily Bible reading and meditation
- Daily prayer or moment-by-moment conversation with Him anywhere, everywhere, anytime
- Daily seeking of God’s presence
- Daily repentance and dealing with the sins in our hearts
This is where consistency becomes a powerful godly principle. It’s these everyday moments, these tiny decisions, that shape our spiritual life and make our foundation firm in Christ.
