Bo Ne is a fusion of Vietnamese and French cuisines, and it's all about that sizzle. It's surprisingly simple to make, but the flavor is out of this world!

๐ˆ๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ:

โ€ข For the Beef:
o 2 boneless beef steaks (sirloin or flank steak works great)
o 1 pack Bo Ne Sauce
o Or if youโ€™re making from scratch (1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp black pepper, a pinch of minced garlic

โ€ข For Serving:
o Fresh baguette, sliced
o 1 small onion, sliced
o 2 slices of liver pate (optional, but highly recommended!)
o Cucumbers and tomatoes, sliced (optional)

๐ˆ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ:

1. Slice the beef into thin strips. In a bowl, mix the steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, pepper, and garlic or the marinade and let sit for 15mins.
2. Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter or oil.
3. Add the marinated beef strips to the hot pan and sear quickly, about 1-2 minutes per side. We want a nice brown crust but keep it tender!
4. Transfer the beef to a sizzling plate or directly to a heat-proof plate. Serve it immediately while it's still sizzling, with a side of your fresh baguette slices for dipping and any veggies you like.

๐Ÿ… Kinamatisang Manok Recipe

Ingredients:
* Chicken (cut into serving pieces)
* 3-4 ripe tomatoes (quartered)
* 1 onion (sliced)
* 4 cloves garlic (minced)
* 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger (sliced)
* 1โ€“2 tablespoons fish sauce (patis)
* Salt and pepper to taste
* 1โ€“2 cups water or chicken broth
* Oil for sautรฉing
* Optional: green leafy vegetables (like pechay or spinach)

Instructions:

1. In a hot pan with a little oil, sautรฉ chicken pieces until lightly browned on all sides. Set aside.
2. In the same pan, sautรฉ onions, garlic, and ginger until fragrant. Add the tomatoes and cook until they soften and release their juices.
3. Return the chicken to the pan. Stir well to coat in the tomato mixture, then pour in a bit of water (just enough to simmer). Cover and cook for 20โ€“30 minutes until chicken is tender.
4. Add pechay or any leafy greens and simmer for another 2โ€“3 minutes until wilted.
5. Enjoy with a side of steamed rice.

Gochujang
Onions
Mushrooms

Dashi
Seaweed (optional)

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€:

1. In a pot, bring 2โ€“3 cups of water to a gentle boil and add dashi according to package instructions.
2. Toss in sliced onions and mushrooms. Let them simmer for 5โ€“7 minutes until soft.
3. Lower the heat. Stir in 1 tbsp of miso paste and ยฝ tsp of gochujang (or to taste). Stir until fully dissolvedโ€”donโ€™t boil after adding miso!
4. Tear in a small amount and let it soften for 1โ€“2 minutes.
5. Top with chopped green onions just before serving.

* 300g chicken (soup cut or breast), cut into chunks
* 1/2 cup sticky rice (malagkit), rinsed
* 1/2 cup rolled oats
* 4 cups chicken broth
* 1/2 tsp turmeric
* 1/2 tsp safflower (kasubha)
* Salt & pepper to taste

๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜€: boiled egg, fried garlic, green onions

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€:

1. In a pot, heat oil and sautรฉ garlic until golden. Set some aside for topping. Add onion and ginger and cook until fragrant.
2. Add chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook until lightly browned.
3. Stir in malagkit and turmeric, then pour in chicken broth (or knorr chicken cubes). Simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Once rice is half-cooked, stir in oats and continue simmering until thick and creamy (around 15โ€“20 mins). Add kasubha and adjust seasoning.
5. Serve hot with boiled egg, fried garlic, and spring onions. Optional: squeeze calamansi or lemon for brightness ๐Ÿ‹

My first time to make a cake and pretty ambitious to choose Lemon Poppy Seed Cake! But I was awfully in love with the flavours and I wanted my mom to have the best cake so I powered through. Some roadblocks I had while making this cake:

- making lemon curd requires specific equipment (you canโ€™t use metal and risk having your curd taste metallic)
- the buttercream frosting has ther โ€˜rightโ€™ temp so it can be workable
- piping the cake and the surrounding takes a loooot of work (and practice!)
- i wanted real flowers as the topping ala pinterest but our flowers were too big lol ended up using icing flowers

Eitherway it was a great experience and I was able to recreate it with cupcakes. 10/10 would recommend!

One of my favorite 15-minute dinnersโ€”Ahi Tuna Poke bowlโ€”easy to customize and equally easy to prepare. Letโ€™s begin!

What You'll Need:

* sushi-grade tuna, cubed
* Sauce: soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, sriracha mayo
* Toppings: green onions, sliced onions and sesame seeds

Let's Make It!

1. Marinate Tuna: Gently mix cubed tuna with all sauce ingredients. Let it sit for 15-20 mins in the fridge.
2. Assemble: Add marinated tuna on top of warm rice. (optional add sliced avocado, cucumber, or edamame)
3. Garnish: Top with green onions and sesame seeds.
