𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞-𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞

The BCBP Northern Cebu Region held its Discipleship Leadership Development Workshop (DLDW) on June 27–28, 2026, at the Sto. Niño Spirituality Center in Tolotolo, Consolacion, Cebu. The two-day formation program gathered 35 brothers from the Mandaue, Mandaue West, Mandaue Central, and Mandaue East chapters to deepen their understanding of discipleship and servant leadership.

The workshop was organized by Regional Council Director Vicente Sarigumba, together with Elders Hector Tinia and Sim Lanaria, Course Leader Rene Sanapo, and Chief Servant Jovi Ledon. Former RCD Edgar Nicolas, along with Chapter Heads Roel Bernales, Romeo Alejandro, Borj Villacampa, and Mykki Arnado, also attended the opening day in support of the participants.

The series of talks focused on the essential qualities of a disciple-leader. Kuya Cezar Villacampa opened the workshop with a review of God's Master Plan for Evangelization. Kuya Donny Yu challenged the participants to become faithful friends and witnesses of Christ, while Kuya Noel Cabahug encouraged them to examine the depth of their prayer life. Tang Sim Lanaria emphasized Christ's call to serve others with humility, Kuya Ernest Ocassiones reinforced the spirit of brotherhood in leadership, and Kuya D**g Josol reminded everyone that genuine service often requires sacrifice.

On the final day, Tang Karl Roque encouraged the participants to lead by example, reminding them that leaders must faithfully live the message they proclaim. Course Leader Rene Sanapo concluded the workshop with a personal self-assessment and an accountability session, where participants committed to concrete spiritual growth plans for the next six months.

The workshop culminated in the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Jack Luna, OSA. Through the DLDW, BCBP continues to form servant leaders who are rooted in Christ, committed to authentic discipleship, and equipped to lead others in fulfilling the Church's mission of evangelization.

𝕎𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕋𝕖𝕖𝕟𝕤 𝔽𝕚𝕟𝕕 𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕚𝕣 ℂ𝕚𝕣𝕔𝕝𝕖: 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕊𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪 𝕠𝕗 ℍ𝕚𝕝𝕦𝕟𝕒 𝕊𝕒𝕗𝕖 ℂ𝕚𝕣𝕔𝕝𝕖𝕤 – 𝔾𝕖𝕟 ℤ 𝔼𝕕𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟

Hiluna Safe Circle Sessions – Gen Z Edition began as a simple question in a governance meeting: “With everything our teens are facing, how can we support their mental health and faith more intentionally?"

In Bisaya, "hiluna" carries the sense of being settled, at rest, gently still, and quietly in place. It speaks of calm after inner noise—something deeply fitting for teens who are trying to make sense of school pressure, family dynamics, friendships, crushes, digital life, and faith. What started as a summer experiment became a safe, structured space for 20 sons and daughters of BCBP Mandaue West and East Chapters.

Across eight weekly sessions (3–4 hours each), teens journeyed through topics like self-awareness and emotions, boundaries and relationships, digital wellness, and prayer and purpose—guided by worksheets, learning activities, and small-group facilitation. They came out more self‑aware, more expressive, and more grounded: understanding their faith better, forming new friendships that pray together, and making more intentional choices at home and in their circles. Parents quietly noticed the change—more openness, maturity, and a clearer grasp of real, God‑centered truths instead of the “fake” narratives of social media.

Hiluna was gently led under the guidance of then Family Life Heads and now Mandaue East Chapter Head Mykki Arnado and wife Gail; supervised by Mandaue East Family Life Head JB Pizan and his wife, Ara, with her team at HRT People Solutions, Inc.; and lovingly facilitated by Family Life members Franz and Maxene Gabuya, and Marc and Christine Arnado. After a beautiful culminating and team‑strengthening day, their journey will continue through monthly mini AGMs (Accountability Group Meetings), keeping the teens’ safe circle alive beyond summer.

𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: BCBP 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 & 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲

June 20 was a very special morning for BCBP Mandaue East Chapter. At 8:00 AM in Harold’s Hotel, we gathered for our 1st Joint Breakfast Fellowship, a simple yet grace-filled milestone for our growing community. This breakfast was extra special because we welcomed 13 first-time breakfasters, whom we were blessed to embrace into our BCBP family.

Our Couple Sharers were no less than our Chapter Head Dr. Mykki Arnado and his wife Gail, who shared from the heart on the theme:
“Faith in Tribulations, Strength in Service.”
They reminded us that even in trials, the Lord never leaves and that serving Him and others becomes our source of strength and joy.

The fellowship was lovingly hosted by Engr. Marcu and Candice Miole, and our Scripture Response was given by Engr. Jovi Ledon, reflecting on James 1:2–4 and the call to “consider it pure joy” when we face various trials because they produce perseverance and maturity in our faith.

Right after, we honored the fathers in our midst with a short but heartfelt Father’s Day tribute. Wives serenaded their husbands, and children offered simple tokens and messages of love. Some dads and kids bravely read their notes aloud, but even those who didn’t were visibly happy, blessed, and deeply appreciated.

The day continued with our 1st Praise and Worship Assembly, led by Worship Leader Mr. Dom Romano, with the theme
“Rooted in Faith, Growing in Mission.”
It was a Spirit-filled time of praise, thanksgiving, and surrender. Dr. Mykki also gave a mini teaching, reminding us that we are called to serve in love, to anchor our faith firmly in Christ, and to never lose sight of the mission entrusted to us.

For BCBP Mandaue East Chapter, this was a very momentous day—
rooted more deeply in faith, strengthened in service,
joyfully welcoming new brothers and sisters,
and ready to grow together in the mission God has given us.

It all began with a whisper—an invitation to share. When I received it, I immediately prayed for God’s wisdom and courage. Truthfully, this was not the first time someone had encouraged me to step forward and share.

As I reflected on this invitation, I could not help but be reminded of the moment I was asked to take charge of the NAC 46 Music Ministry. At first, the responsibility felt overwhelming. Questions, doubts, and uncertainties filled my mind. Yet amidst all these, God continued to whisper, “Trust Me.”

Looking back, the ten-month journey of preparing for NAC 46 was not easy. There were challenges, limitations, unexpected turns, moments of fatigue, and times when answers seemed difficult to find. We experienced an earthquake in November and endured typhoons in Cebu. Members of our music ministry faced serious personal trials—a father passed away, family members battled illness, two members underwent weekly dialysis, a spouse was diagnosed with cancer, and even the soaring cost of gasoline added to the burden. Some would come from Minglanilla, Naga, Liloan, Lapu-lapu and Cordova. There were many reasons to feel discouraged, to slow down, or even to stop.

Yet through it all, I witnessed God faithfully working behind the scenes, putting everything in order according to His perfect plan. Time and again, He provided what we needed exactly when we needed it. He sent people, resources, a bcbp member offered their office and school for our rehearsals for free), encouragement, and grace. In moments of uncertainty,
He reminded us that this ministry was never ours to carry alone.

One lesson that resonated deeply with me is this: when it is God’s work, He will lead you and take care of you. Our role is not to carry the entire burden by ourselves but to allow Him to work in us and through us. We simply need to surrender, trust, and follow His direction.

Throughout the journey, God taught me valuable virtues—humility to recognize that the ministry was never about me, obedience to say “yes” even when I felt inadequate, and patience to wait upon His timing when things did not unfold according to my expectations. These became my anchors whenever challenges arose.

Our choir preparation journey was both meaningful and transformative. Beyond learning songs and harmonies, it became a process of growth in faith, discipline, teamwork, humility, and service. The preparation allowed us not only to improve musically but also to deepen our worship life.
God protected me, i never missed any rehearsal, never got sick though i sometimes lost my voice. Every rehearsal became an opportunity to encourage one another, to persevere through difficulties, and to witness God’s hand at work in our lives.

What made the journey even more beautiful was realizing that while we were preparing music for the anniversary celebration, God was preparing our hearts. Through every practice, every sacrifice, every challenge, and every victory, He was molding us into a community united in purpose and anchored in faith.

Today, I realize that every invitation, every whisper, and every calling is an opportunity for God to reveal His faithfulness. The Lord does not necessarily call the most capable; He equips those who are willing. When we place our trust in Him, He transforms our weaknesses into testimonies of His grace.

As I continue to listen to His whispers, my prayer remains the same: “Lord, may Your will be done. Continue to guide me, mold me, and use me for Your glory.” For if it is truly God’s business, He will always provide the wisdom, strength, and courage needed for the journey.

And looking back now, I can only say with a grateful heart: God has been faithful every step of the way.

The Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) celebrated a momentous milestone for the Northern Cebu Region with the Chapter Installation Rites of BCBP Mandaue Central Chapter and BCBP Mandaue East Chapter on June 13, 2026, held at Kalea Hall, Big Hotel. This significant occasion marked a historic day as two mission areas within the region were formally installed as full-fledged chapters, reflecting growth, expansion, and the deepening of BCBP’s mission in the marketplace.

The program was warmly hosted by Jun and Enbee Tagalog of the Mandaue Chapter, who guided the proceedings with grace and enthusiasm, setting a welcoming tone for the celebration.

BCBP President Ani Serrato delivered a meaningful message that served as a timely reminder to all members. He emphasized three important principles: to come together and serve with purpose, to exercise discerning leadership, and to remain faithful to the vision and mission of BCBP. His words reinforced the calling of every member to lead and serve with intentionality and integrity.

The installation rites were led by RCD Vicente Sarigumba and his wife Annie, who officiated the formal commissioning of the chapter heads and governance teams of both new chapters. Marking the transition from mission areas to full-fledged chapters, Mr. Cezar Villacampa and his wife Vangie were installed as Chapter Heads of BCBP Mandaue Central Chapter, while Dr. Maximo Isidore Arnado and his wife Gail were installed as Chapter Heads of BCBP Mandaue East Chapter.

The ceremony was enriched with meaningful symbolic rites. The passing of the shepherd’s staff from the mother chapters—BCBP Mandaue Chapter and BCBP Mandaue West Chapter—signified the transfer of leadership and responsibility. Families of the Chapter Heads were also called forward, highlighting their vital role in providing support and strength to their respective leaders.

Commitment rites were conducted for both the governance teams and the members of the new chapters, affirming their dedication to the mission. A particularly moving moment was the ceremonial lighting and distribution of candles, symbolizing the shared responsibility of bringing Christ’s light into the marketplace. The welcoming of the new governance members further underscored the spirit of unity and collective purpose.

In his closing remarks, CMD VisMin Cluster 1 Joseph Maniwan offered an inspiring perspective, likening the formation of new chapters to the separation of cells—where there is division, there is life and growth. He also reflected on Cebu’s position on the map as resembling a net cast, encouraging members to actively participate in expanding the mission of spreading Christ in the marketplace and ultimately winning the marketplace for Christ.

The event concluded with a spirit of joy, gratitude, and renewed commitment. As these new chapters begin their journey, the community celebrates this milestone with hope and prayer.

Held at Bayfront Hotel in Cebu City, our Joint Breakfast Fellowship was a morning filled with joy, faith, and fellowship as we gathered once again as one community in Christ.

The event was graciously hosted by Chapter Head, Mr Junie and wife Cre Alejandro, who set the tone with a heartfelt welcome and introduction. We were blessed with eight first-time breakfasters and one new graduate, whose presence brought added joy to our gathering. They were introduced to the mission of BCBP—to win the marketplace for Christ by living out integrity and faith in our business and professional lives.

Our homegrown couple sharers, Mr Ador and Mrs Mae Morados of the BCBP Mandaue East Mission, moved everyone as they shared their powerful testimony of faith and perseverance. Their story reminded us that while community doesn’t exempt us from life’s challenges, it gives us the strength to overcome them—anchored in God’s love and guidance.

Engr. Jovi Ledon led the Scripture Response, quoting a comforting verse from Isaiah that encouraged everyone to trust in God’s divine strength, identity, and faithful presence in times of fear and uncertainty.

Truly, mornings like these remind us of the beauty of community and the steadfast love of God that guides every step of our journey.

Today we gather with grateful hearts as we celebrate the 38th Anniversary of the BCBP Cebu Area.

For thirty-eight years, God has faithfully guided this community of men and women striving to live out their faith in their businesses, professions, and daily lives. From humble beginnings, BCBP Cebu has grown into a vibrant brotherhood — raising servant leaders, strengthening families, and transforming workplaces through Christ-centered leadership.

This morning, we celebrate not only the years that have passed, but the many lives touched through the mission and fellowship of BCBP.

We are also blessed to hear from our couple sharers, BCBP President Brother Anni Serrato and Sister Tess Serrato, as they share their journey of faith, leadership, and service.

May their testimony inspire us to continue answering God’s call — to lead with integrity, serve with humility, and boldly live out our faith.

MASS WEDDING of 6 COUPLES ORGANIZED by BCBP MANDAUE WEST CHAPTER WOMEN'S COUNCIL

BCBP Mandaue West Chapter (and BCBP Mandaue East Mission) Women’s Council & Governance Team held its first-ever Mass Wedding last February 3, 2026. Five couples now share this special date as their anniversary!

This event was nothing short of a miracle. It started as just an idea among the governance team, and somehow, God guided us to the couples who had long hoped to have their unions blessed.

God also led us to a passionate group—the Basilica del Sto. Niño Apostolate Team—who made the ceremony and preparations possible. Special thanks to Kuya Jesse Billones for being the instrument that connected them to us.

Once everything in the church was set, we began planning the reception. We wanted it to be memorable for the couples. Though our budget was limited, God moved generous hearts to come through for us.

Another amazing story I want to share is about the cake. With our tight budget, we struggled to find a cake and almost forgot it altogether. But God made it happen!

On the actual event, we didn’t have just one cake—we had six cakes! Truly amazing!
This Mass Wedding is a beautiful reminder that when we trust God and step out in faith, He provides beyond what we can imagine.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡, 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞

Stress is a natural response to traumatic experiences such as disasters, loss, and sudden life-changing events. When left unaddressed, these emotional burdens can affect a person’s overall well-being and daily functioning. Recognizing the importance of mental and emotional healing, a Stress Debriefing Seminar was conducted by a team of expert psychologists, counsellors and volunteers from Redemptorist Family Center Cebu Inc. at Patio Hillary, Bogo City, Cebu, last January 4, 2026.

The activity was sponsored by the BCBP Head Office, spearheaded by our President Anecito Serrato through AMD Atty. Jess Cagara and RCD Vicente Sarigumba with their wives, as part of its mission to provide care and emotional support to the members of the BCBP Bogo Chapter who were affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake last September 30, 2025. Despite the passage of time, the continued aftershocks have contributed to ongoing stress and anxiety among many members.

The session began with a prayer and a worship song, followed by the introduction of the resource speakers. The first topic discussed was “Managing Post-Trauma Symptoms: A Guide for Disaster Survivors” by Ms. Rosemarie Gonato, MA, RPsy, of the Philippine Mental Health Association. This session was extremely meaningful for us as earthquake survivors, as it helped us understand our emotional responses and provided practical ways to manage trauma and cope with our situation. Despite the challenges brought by continuous rain on that day, the members eagerly participated the activity, showing their strong desire to heal and learn.

One of the most powerful parts of the seminar was the sharing of personal experiences. Having someone listen to our stories helped ease stress and anxiety, affirming the idea that sharing is the beginning of healing. Above all, we were reminded that trusting God and surrendering everything to Him is the best way to find peace and comfort amid uncertainty.

The activity concluded with the participants feeling renewed, enlightened, and uplifted, having begun to release their stress and worries. We, the members of the BCBP Bogo Chapter, are truly grateful to our dedicated facilitators and to everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful and life-sustaining activity.
