ICYMI | Back at Campus: SHS Re-Orientation

Cebu Doctorsโ€™ University Senior High School Re-orientation brought together the entire SHS department in the schoolโ€™s auditorium last January 21, 2025. Senior High School students and the faculty reassemble for a re-overview of what will occur in the second semester of A.Y. 2024-2025. The discussion retackled points mentioned within the previous SHS orientation during the official start of the first semester.

After singing the National Anthem, the Senior High School principal, Ms. Ria M. Alcantara, gives her opening remarks to the students. After the motivational speech, the re-orientation begins with the CDU key features.

The class records and general grading system of the semester subjects were discussed by the Academic Chair, Mr. Noel G. Mabala. He discussed the importance of student attendance and being present for lectures and school activities during the semester. The discussion also covers how students should do project and school work submissions on time and highlights student responsibility and academic excellence.

The student discipline and school rules and regulations were discussed by the Student Affairs, Linkages, and Outreach Department (SALOD) Chair, Mr. Budget L. Sulit. The discussion talked about the rules to be followed within the school grounds and the consequences that will result from breaking these rules. The proper dress code, banned items and substances, tardiness, public display of affection, skipping classes, fraudulence, cheating, and bullying were thoroughly discussed in the talk.

The purpose of the CDU senior high re-orientation was to regather the senior high body and review the important points to be remembered whilst staying in CDU as a SHS student. It served to improve the current state of the department and resolve known issues of poor student performance and behavior. The different discussions prepared students for the new second semester, talked about how the grading system works, and provided strict guidelines to be followed.

Wallflower Waltz: The Spur of the High Society

The Senior High School community of Cebu Doctorsโ€™ University gathered for an unforgettable evening of camaraderie and celebration during the acquaintance party held on November 22, 2024. The venue, transformed into a picturesque setting of elegance, welcomed gentlemen and ladies alike who arrived in suits and gowns that reflected the eveningโ€™s theme of sophistication and unity.

The program commenced with a prayer followed by opening performances and the induction of the Class, Club, and SCOSH Officers. Games and intermissions followed, fostering friendly competition, interaction, and lively engagement. Conversations over shared meals became another avenue for forming bonds and creating cherished memories. During dinner, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as attendees captured the moment through photos, exchanged laughter, and reveled in the joy of each otherโ€™s company.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the evening was the dance floor, which quickly became the heart of the event as students, initially hesitant, joined in, dancing to an array of upbeat tunes. Adding to the excitement were a spirited Pall Mall competition, an electrifying dance battle, and vibrant performances by the Dance Troupe, a band, and a solo act that energized the crowd. The teachersโ€™ fashion show added a touch of elegance and creativity, while the awarding ceremony provided a fitting finale to a night of unforgettable moments.

As the event concluded, the students left not only with smiles but also with strengthened friendships and a renewed sense of belonging. A heartfelt congratulations to SCOSH for their first successful event, which set the stage for future gatherings. This remarkable gathering marked the beginning of what promises to be a year of collaboration and engagement.
