Chicken Chops and Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
Chicken chops
500 g chicken Breast
2 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 large egg
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup all purpose flour
Make the marinade: Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Marinade for 3hrs.
Combine cornstarch and all purpose flour.
Dredge the chicken first in cornstarch and flour mixture and dip in beaten egg and dredge it again in the cornstarch + flour mixture.
Fry it until golden brown.
Gravy
3 tbsp butter
5 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 pc chicken cube
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 cups water
Heat a saucepan and put-in the butter. Let the butter melt under low heat.
Add 5 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and cook in low heat while continuously stirring until the color turns medium brown.
Gradually add water and add chicken cube and soy sauce. Continue stirring until it boils and until the texture thickens.
Mashed Potatoes:
3 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into large chunks
3 garlic cloves
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup fresh milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 cup sour cream
Chopped fresh chives for garnish
Place the potatoes and garlic in a large pot,
Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and gently boil until the potatoes are fork-tender. Drain and return to the pot.
Begin to mash the potatoes and garlic with a potato masher. When they are partially mashed, add the butter, milk, salt, and ground black pepper. Continuing mashing until the potatoes reach your desired consistency, then add sour cream, then fold. Season to taste.
Topped with chives.
