It all started in November 2014, and it was completely serendipitous. Christian, an American businessman based in Singapore at the time, was supposed to fly out of Paris but ended up missing his flight.
On his unexpectedly extended last day, Christian was sitting at a Parisian cafĂŠ, sipping red wine and studying a metro map. Across the cafĂŠ, he locked eyes with a handsome gentlemanâFrancis Libiran. They couldn't stop looking at each other, so Christian gathered the courage to walk over and introduce himself. That bold move led to a long conversation, a second round of drinks, and a romantic midnight stroll through the City of Love.

The spark was undeniable. As soon as Christian landed back in Singapore, he sent Francis a dozen white roses. But loving each other meant putting in the miles. For the next two years, they maintained a long-distance relationship, flying back and forth to see each other every two weeks.

Beyond the physical distance, they also faced the societal reality that same-sex marriage is not legally recognized in the Philippines. Despite the odds, Francis noted how incredibly fortunate they wereâhis family embraced Christian with open arms and fully supported their relationship without condition.
Exactly one year after they met, the couple traveled back to Paris for their anniversary. Christian brought Francis to the Jardin des Tuileriesâthe exact place Christian had visited the morning of the very day they first metâand popped the question.
Francis, who had previously shared that he would spend 15 minutes in every European church he visited praying specifically for a life partner, happily said yes.
On March 17, 2017, they celebrated their union with a lavish, breathtaking ceremony at The Lind in Boracay. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the two grooms walked down the aisle in matching custom blue suits designed by Francis himself.
During their vows, Francis called Christian his "answered prayer," while Christian promised, "The world may not always be for us, but my world will always be you."

Today, the couple is thriving both in love and in their respective careers. While Francis continues to design for global icons and Hollywood stars, Christian co-owns the highly successful Manila-based food brand Naked Patisserie. Christian has openly shared that being Francisâs husband is "the happiest I have ever been."
Their marriage is built on mutual support, scheduling dedicated date nights to disconnect from work, and complementing each otherâs strengths. Looking to the future, they have excitedly shared their plans to adopt a baby girl to complete their happily ever after.
