My husband’s and my taxes could have gone to our son’s occupational and speech therapy sessions. They could have paid for his tuition fee, which is understandably high because of the special accommodations he needs for his condition (Autism Spectrum Disorder). They could have covered our other children’s tuition. They could have supported their sports training, real investments in their future.

But instead, I am forced to juggle three fu***ng jobs just to help my husband shoulder our expenses, at the cost of precious time I should be spending with my family.

Hindi lang pera ang ninanakaw ng mga corrupt. Ninanakaw nila ang kinabukasan ng mga anak natin. Ninakaw nila ang oras na dapat ay para sa pamilya, oras na kinakalakal natin sa pagtatrabaho dahil napakamahal mabuhay sa Pilipinas.

Every peso stolen is a therapy session denied, a classroom seat lost, a family moment taken away. Ang korapsyon ay hindi lang isyu ng gobyerno. Ito ay pangungulimbat sa buhay, pangarap, at kinabukasan ng bawat Pilipino.
