Beyond the Title: The Lasting Legacy of Good Deeds
Our titles, positions, and ranks are merely privileges that will soon be forgotten. Even our names will fade. (Read Ecclesiastes 1:11)
The highest honors we achieve in this world are fleeting. (Read James 4:14 )
Therefore, let us wisely use our authority and our God-given free will in the time we have.(Read Ephesians 5:15–16) For we will all surely return to ashes; (Read Genesis 3:19 Ecclesiastes 3:20) we will decay and wither away.
The most important legacy we can pass on to those who follow us are our good deeds and the example of our righteous living. (Matthew 5:16 ) This is what truly lasts.
When our time comes, may we face the Lord without shame regarding our life's conduct. (1 Corinthians 3:13–15 )
"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (NIV)
