ZHANG YINGFEI BRINGS LINDA WALKER’S INSPIRING STORY TO THE PHILIPPINES
MANILA, Philippines — Chinese actress Zhang Yingfei, the young star who portrayed the beloved character Linda Walker in the hit Chinese micro-drama The Heiress Who Won with Brains, arrived in the Philippines on June 8 for a four-day visit centered on education, charity, and cultural exchange.
The visit was organized by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) as part of its “Education for a Better Future” Campaign, which aims to inspire Filipino youth while strengthening people-to-people ties between the Philippines and China.
Excitement filled the arrival area of Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 early Monday morning as fans, content creators, and members of the media gathered to welcome the 21-year-old actress. Many supporters were eager to meet the woman behind Linda Walker, a fictional character who has become an online phenomenon among Filipino viewers.
Although Linda Walker is not a real person, the character’s story resonated deeply with audiences. In the original Chinese version of the series, the character is known as Lin SiWang. Through Zhang Yingfei’s performance, the intelligent and determined heiress became a symbol of perseverance, academic excellence, and courage in overcoming adversity.
The micro-drama gained massive popularity across TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and other digital platforms, particularly in the Philippines, where viewers connected with Linda Walker’s struggles and determination to succeed through education and hard work.
According to organizers, Zhang’s visit is more than a celebrity appearance. It is designed to promote the importance of education and encourage young Filipinos to pursue their dreams despite challenges.
On June 8, the actress is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Manila Mayor Isko Moreno at Manila City Hall before embarking on a tour of the historic district of Intramuros to learn more about Philippine history and culture.
The following day, June 9, Zhang will participate in a charity event at Quezon City High School, where she is expected to interact with students and support educational initiatives under the campaign.
Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the actress during a public Meet and Greet event on June 10 at SM North EDSA Annex. Organizers expect hundreds of supporters to attend the event, which will serve as a celebration of the character and the values she represents.
Zhang Yingfei is scheduled to return to China on June 11, concluding what organizers describe as a meaningful and productive visit.
For many Filipino fans, Linda Walker’s story reflects the realities faced by students striving for a better future. Through Zhang Yingfei’s visit, that message of resilience, intelligence, and determination moves beyond the screen and into real-life communities, inspiring a new generation to believe that education remains one of the most powerful tools for success.
