Selection Tournament for the FREE Chess Classes
In collaboration with United Queens Chess Club and Girl Chess Power and Beyond, this event is dedicated to uplifting and empowering women in chess!

Date and Time: September 5, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

How to Join:

Players on the list must first join the official Lichess team: https://lichess.org/team/uqcc-x-girl-chess-power-and-beyond and provide their full name and Lichess username for approval.

Once approved, you may join the tournament here: https://lichess.org/swiss/dGnBJ0Ei

The bottom 16 players will be selected to join the UQCC Learners Program 2025 for Women. This tournament aims to identify beginner players from the list, while the Top 5 players will receive cash prizes as follows:

Prizes:
Champion – ₱200
2nd Place – ₱150
3rd Place – ₱100
4th Place – ₱50
5th Place – ₱50

Congratulations to Chester Neil Reyes for achieving back-to-back championship titles in the UQCC Online Open Cup Chess Tournament! Special recognition also goes to NM Giovanni Mejia, our top UQCC Subscriber, and Joel Anthony Hicap as the 2nd top UQCC Subscriber!

Day 5: UQCC Learners Program 2025 ♟️

Our learners explored the three phases of a chess game, opening, middlegame, and endgame. They learned the basics of planning: how to set a goal, create a plan, and adjust it as the game unfolds. And perhaps most importantly, they began asking the key question every good player asks: “Why did my opponent move there?”

Each lesson is sharpening their awareness, helping them see beyond the board and think ahead with purpose. They’re no longer just reacting, they’re starting to plan, to question, and to make moves with intent.

The UQCC Learners Program is a free training program for kids and women, helping them build a strong foundation and take their first steps toward becoming future champions.
