WATCH: Several teachers had to brave a swollen river to cross to the other side in Sitio Banlas, Barangay Kihan, Malapatan, Sarangani, after heavy rains caused flooding in the area.

In a video shared by teacher Jailene T***n, she said they were on their way home from Akbual Elementary School in Barangay Upper Suyan when they encountered the river's raging waters on Thursday, June 19.

To ensure their safety, some residents stepped in to help the teachers navigate the strong current. According to T***n, there is no bridge in the area, which is why they rely on habal-habal motorcycles to cross the river when the water is low.
