TWO MINUTE DAILY SPIRITUAL DEVOTION
"JESUS said to them, 'I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not HUNGER, and he who believes in Me will never THIRST.'" (John 6:35, NASB)
REFLECTION:
What did JESUS mean when He said, 'I am the Bread of Life?
Do I come to JESUS in my thirst and hunger, and allow Him to fill me completely?
Do I believe that He is the only One who can satisfy my spiritual hunger and thirst?
ACTION POINT:
Bread, being so common, is considered a staple dietary item and is such a basic food that it has become synonymous with “food” in general. A person can survive a long time with only bread and water.
But what I need more than food is the TRUE BREAD from heaven that gives life, that when I come, believe, and have Him, I shall not hunger and never thirst.
I will not be so concerned about perishable things like physical food that spoils, but rather spend my energy seeking the ETERNAL LIFE that only the Son of Man can give me. For God the Father has given me the seal of His approval. (John 6:27).
Our Lord JESUS Christ is God's Gift to us. I should humbly come to Him, receive Him, be affected by Him and persevere to be with Him. I need to “personally experience Him” in order for me to be hungry and thirsty NO MORE.
I BELIEVE that JESUS is the Bread of Life and the Living Water -- He fully sustains and satisfies my spiritual hunger and thirst for rigtheousness! All GLORY TO JESUS!
