The Jollibee ad that broke the Internet
Every Filipino has their and to be honest Jollibee has always been a part of our lives since then that brings joy to every meal that we purchase from their fast-food chain also it is the place where we’ve had some of our best memories. I think everyone can relate to this because I too myself can also relate. The country’s biggest and most loved fast-food chain in the Philippines released a campaign entitled it is a series of video advertisements that depict true-to-life stories of every Filipino despite heartbreaks, rejections, and challenges that they experienced all along the way. It also depicts their victories as well as their unique love stories this was launched way back in 2016.
The Viral TV Advertisement of Jollibee’s One True Pair Series entitled “The Jollibee ad that broke the Internet.” is basically about Cam the Chameleon which is a girl who deliberately changes her personality to match her current boyfriend until she loses her sense of self in the process. The Advertisement wants to convey to us that you don’t need to change your personality for you to be able to fit in with someone regardless of what you have and what you can do. The least that you can do is just to be yourself and everything will put into place, do things that make you happy. The message sells the product as the company associate the Character of Cam to their product which is the Jollibee Chicken joy Perfect Pair (1pc Chicken Joy with spaghetti and Iced Tea) this helped to promote their product, as we all know Jollibee know their target audiences and also they invest in long-form contents. The guy wanted to join with Cam eating and telling that he wish he had also taken the leg part but Cam told the guy that It doesn't need to be both same to be meant for each other, they also have a slogan at the end of the Advertisement it showed a Quotation “Sometimes you need to find yourself first before you find your perfect pair.” Just like Cam, she admitted that she was a former Chameleon who transformed for the last time to become herself with no filter, no partner, and no problem, and finally She chose to follow what her heart dictates. The Advertisement doesn’t have any implicit message.
The viral videos continue to touch the hearts of many and garner recognition in the country and even abroad. According to the Jollibee in less than a month, the commercial hit over 12 million views, over 300,000 reactions, and over 70,000 shares. It has also inspired a significant number of reaction videos and social media posts about “Cam the Chameleon” which was launched in October 2019 as part of Indie Go Media (IGM) and Jollibee Studios’ “One True Pair” series. This purs in the lead of the digital marketing frontier through its innovative content and authentic storytelling
