FROM INDEPENDENCE TO GRATITUDE: ANDREA ROSE’S GRADUATION STORY 🎓

Andrea Gail Rosales, known as Andrea Rose, has graduated magna cm laude, capping her college journey with numerous academic, leadership, and extracurricular achievements.

Among her recognitions are:

🏅 Magna Cum Laude
🏆 Most Influential Nationalian of the Year – 1st Gawad Nationalian Awards
🏆 Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson Memorial Award Nominee
🏆 School of Arts, Sciences, and Education Most Influential Nationalian & Student Excellence Awardee – Two-Time Recipient
🏆 Student Excellence in Academics – Consistent Dean’s Lister
🏆 Student Excellence in Internship
🏆 Two-Time Program Ambassadress of AB Communication
🏆 5th Place – Campus Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

But beyond the awards, Andrea's graduation message centered on something more personal: learning that strength does not mean having to do everything alone.

Growing up as an only child raised by her mother and grandmother, Andrea said she became familiar with independence from an early age.

At just 17, she established her career as a content creator, an accomplishment that eventually allowed her mother to retire.

She became accustomed to being self-reliant and taking care of herself and the people she loved.

For years, she believed that being strong meant not needing anyone.

But as she reached her early twenties, she realized that while independence can protect a person from getting hurt, it can also prevent them from accepting support from others.

Her college journey helped her recognize that no achievement is truly accomplished alone.

Her family supported her even when she had nothing impressive to offer.

Her friends stayed by her side when she struggled to be there for herself.

Her professors, program chair, and dean helped shape the person she became.

And the people who supported her online gave deeper meaning to the work she had once thought she was doing entirely on her own.

Andrea reflected that while her name may be written on her diploma, many other people are part of the story behind it.

Her message to fellow Nationalians was a reminder that independence and accepting help are not opposites.

“You can stand on your own two feet and still reach for someone’s hand.”

For Andrea, perhaps true strength is not living a life where you never need anyone, but building a life filled with people who are worth loving, appreciating, and leaning on.

As she looks back on her college journey, she hopes to carry one simple reflection forward:

“I have loved, and I have lived.”

Congratulations, Andrea Rose! ✨

FROM CONTENT CREATOR TO MAGNA CUM LAUDE 🎓🧑‍🎓

Content creator Andrea Gail Rosales, also known online as Andrea Rose, graduated Magna Cum Laude from National University–Dasmariñas, capping her college journey with academic honors, student awards, and recognition in communication.

Rosales, an AB Communication student, was also nominated for the prestigious Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson Memorial Award, alongside fellow NU Dasmariñas Communication students. The NUD Communication Society separately confirmed her nomination.

Among the achievements she shared were recognition as a consistent Dean’s Lister, Student Excellence awardee in academics and internship, 5th placer in the Campus TOEIC, two-time Program Ambassadress of AB Communication, and recipient of recognitions for being an influential Nationalian.

Her graduation also marked the culmination of a journey that began beyond the classroom. Rosales shared that she started building her content creation career at 17, eventually earning enough to allow her mother to retire.

But behind her achievements was a lesson she said college taught her about independence: being strong does not mean having to accomplish everything alone.

«“My name may be written on the diploma, but there are so so many names written into my story behind it.”»

She credited her family, friends, professors, program chair, dean, and online supporters for becoming part of the journey behind the degree.

From creating content as a teenager to graduating with Latin honors, Rosales closes this chapter with one message: independence and strength can exist alongside allowing others to support and love you.

Congratulations, Andrea! 🎓💙💛

Maligayang pagtatapos ng kolehiyo, Nationalians!

We made it.

Perhaps you know me as Andrea Rose, maybe as a content creator, as a host, or as a batch mate, or baka as the strong independent woman.

Bata palang ako, alam ko na ang konsepto ng pagiging independent. I was raised by two single mothers —my grandma and my mom, tapos only child pa’ko. So even at an early age, the sense of doing everything with self-reliance has always been familiar.

At 17, I was able to establish my content creation career that allowed my mom to retire. Maaga kong natutunan na I could take care of myself, and in some ways, the people I loved.

So I became good at being strong. I had convinced myself na baka the strongest thing I could do was not need anyone at all. Kasi akala ko, if I didn’t need anyone, I couldn’t lose anyone.

Pero at 22 years old, life slowly taught me that this facade can protect you from getting hurt, but it can also keep you from being held.

Kasi ang katotohanan ay…none of us got here alone.

My family was there when I had nothing impressive to give them.
My friends showed up when I couldn’t even show up for myself.
My professors, program chair, and dean, they helped shape the person who I am now.
And the people who supported me online gave even more meaning to the work I thought I was simply doing on my own.

My name may be written on the diploma, but there are so so many names written into my story behind it.

I think that’s something we forget when we’re young, Nationalians.

You can stand on your own two feet and still reach for someone’s hand…

and maybe that’s what it means to truly live.

Not to live a life where you never need anyone.

But to live a life where you have beloved people worth needing.

So when I look back, I hope I can say:

“I have loved, and I have lived.”
