Behind the smile, a mask so bright,
Concealing pain, in the depths of night.
A heart burdened, yet a smile to show,
Hiding tears and sorrows, letting them go.
With every step, a facade to wear,
A smile that hides the scars that are there.
For in this world, where appearances reign,
It's easier to hide one's pain than to gain.
But beneath the smile, a soul unseen,
A battle fought, with courage and keen.
For it is not always easy to be strong,
To conceal all pain behind a single song.

A shackle gripped the soul unseen, a shadow of agony, a jar hidden.
