Our decisions have an impact, big or small. That’s why, when we decide on things, we do so in wisdom and discernment. May this be a reminder for all of us on the effects of the choices we will make that will impact our country more than ever.

Super Typhoon Odette’s winds and rains have caused flooding in the southeastern part of the country. At least eight regions of the country, mostly in Visayas and Mindanao, have declared a state of emergency. Thousands were asked to evacuate for safety, and many families lost their homes.

Let us pray for those who are affected by the typhoon. Ask God to protect and strengthen them, and to restore what they have lost. May they encounter God and receive the inextinguishable hope and joy regardless of the circumstance.

📖 — Interview with John Piper, God’s Plan When Our Plans Fail | Desiring God

I remember having a conversation with one of the people I look up to and prays for me even if we don’t see each other often. We were talking about what was happening that time in my life — brokenness, and from that conversation I once answered her, “hindi naman po siguro sa nasasanay, grace lang po siguro talaga.”

And while I was saying that, I am reminded of His sustaining grace. That time, I felt it, it was so real.

This year challenged many of us. You and I have seen a lot of unforeseen and saddening things happen, lives lost, maybe for some unanswered prayers, battles not yet won, but here's your reminder that you can be glad in your weakness. You can boast about your weakness, for in our weakness His power is made perfect in us (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Don't give up just yet! Kung kailan tayo mahina, dun tayo nagiging malakas.
His sustaining grace carried you this far. That's a reason to celebrate ✨

Someone woke up today and chose to speak up and be courageous ✨

Facebook reminded me of a post by Former CJ Sereno that I shared a year ago when a typhoon badly hit our country. It was almost the same thoughts as what I had in mind.

Some lines from the caption:
"Let us pray to our Almighty God to stop the ferocity of rains and wind, yes, but with the same faith, to bring down the corrupt and selfish immediately. Gamitin ang isip na maka-Diyos at pusong maka-tao. Tumindig tayo as the Sovereign Filipino People, and let everyone in government fulfill their oaths of office - to serve and not to be served. Hindi sila hari. Stop making them your diyos-diyosan. Iisa lang ang tunay na Diyos."

That line: BUT WITH THE SAME FAITH 💥

The love of God necessarily includes the love of country.
If you love the Lord and our country, I hope that from the overflow of Your love for Him and the Philippines, you will wisely choose who will you vote for this May 2022 election.

Touch, challenging, and crucial times since March 2020.
From this day on, let's fervently pray for our country and discern who deserves our vote.
